Lovely morning market that just have the right vibes. Plenty of items to see and shop with a good variety of food trucks as well. There is also a giant inflatable playground got kids with ample parking. These make it a perfect morning day out to enjoy some market ambience and good food.
9 October 2022 Ì have not been to the Riccarton Sunday Market for about 8 months and was disappointed that the stalls were not as many as last time. Maybe before Christmas more people might use it, as a selling point. Now in saying that, the music, atmosphere etc, on the food area lawn was amazing. Lots of people in queues waiting at the food trucks, so we did not wait to eat there. My younger grandchildren enjoyed the bouncy castles and jeep rides at the back part of the market. We will start going back there again. So cool that masks don't have to be worn outdoors. Everyone seemed happy and cheerful.
Great market, lots of stalls & food options included healthy smoothies, gluten free pancakes as well as the usual hotdogs, chips, donuts, whitebait fritters. Music, kids play area, something for everyone. Well worth a visit if u are in Christchurch.
Very relaxing markets! Gorgeous place by the river and a lot of food options. We got there late so many people were closing down but we got one of the bacon butties and it was magic. Recommend.
An interesting market which sadly is void of any kind of atmosphere. Some really good local items... Good coffee & pies available.
I loved visiting this market! So much to see. Lots of good bargains and many fresh vege options if you are keen to get your weekly veges from here. Plenty of food options! We had the dango from the takoyaki stall - delicious! We tried the steak ciabatta - AMAZING! Adams CKT is very delicious too. The Wok Hei is there and the prawns are big plus good big serving for the price you pay. We also bought some Filipino treats called hopia and that was delicious too. There's plenty of space to chill on the grass or use one of the picnic tables and listen the live music performance from Kevin while enjoying the food. Can't wait to return the next time we are in Christchurch!
Have mixed emotions about this Sunday market. Visited on a sunny winter day which is the perfect weather for Sunday markets. Food and coffee we had were so so. Was able to buy a couple of bargain books which is great. Loved the live music as it added to the lively vibe. Lots of benches places to sit ans eat at and quite a lot of stalls to explore. I’ve visited other, better Sunday markets though, so might not return. Worth a try though
It’s really good place to visit and heaps of lovely shops there Really enjoyed it
Massive market with 4 decent rows of fixed stalls. Last few times I've been it looks 80% or more filled with stalls. A bunch in the middle empty but heaps to browse through. Plenty of options for food and good coffee. Live entertainment changes week to week and it's always a solid vibe there
I go there most Sundays, you will always find something ,heaps of food stalls and great entertainment live .people of all ages and different Cultures mixing in and a friendly atmosphere all round .
