The Puhoi Pub Hotel & Stables...Est 1879

I bloody loved this place.nnOf my entire trip around NZ, I think this was one of my favourites and I can't really explain why. Maybe it was the blues americana music playing in the garden, maybe it was the first pub and pub garden, or maybe it was the rain... But all of it made me feel right at home after a few days of jet lag and the hustle of Auckland.nnThe pub displays the village's history on its internal walls. The staff were super friendly. The grub was great, although quite large portions if you're just popping in for a snack. The BLAT sandwich looked and apparently tasted awesome bacon, lettuce, avocado, & tomato, in case you also had no idea!nnI would go back in a heart beat.

Great place to enjoy a good kai, live music & plenty of outdoor seating with shade or sun. Lovely friendly staff. Enjoyed our motorbike ride here on Matariki Day.

A compulsory stop when passing through Puhoi or looking to enjoy yourself on a day out up North. Super easy to get to with the new motorway extension and such an historical/iconic spot. Great range of beers on tap and little boutique stores and a general store at the foot of the pub grounds that are well worth a mosey through too.

Historic pub and eatery with regular live music. Usually well attended on weekends, especially motorcycle riders, with bike parking out front and large carpark opposite

= nnI was finally able to visit the world famous in New Zealand Puhoi Pub Hotel & StablesnnIt was such a hot day and the beer went down great nnIt's the perfect place for small or large groups ‍‍‍‍‍‍ They have a kitchen that serves some great pub food nnI was a little disappointed about the limited beer choices for such a big place. They didn't have Radler, or Tiger Low carb. Although their own tap beer was quite satisfying nnParking is also quite limited. I went on a weekday late morning. I haveno idea where people are going to park on busy weekend
