The Patriot-Your Devonport Pub

The food was quite delicious. The fish and chips were nice and hot but yet not greasy. Of course a nice cold Guinness with a good head tops everything off. Service was actually quite good. I did order at the bar, pay at the bar, and the food was delivered fairly quickly. The more I eat here in Auckland the tradition is to order and pay at the bar in the food gets delivered to your table. This was nothing different. I would definitely return again as their menu looks quite delicious

We had an absolutely lovely pub lunch after a swim at the beach. The staff were so so lovely and our food and drinks came quickly. The outdoor space at the back is great if you can nab a spot, nice and sunny with big umbrellas for shade too. Good drinks selection. I greatly enjoyed my schnitzel, nice gravy and a generous portion. I tasted my friends meals chicken parm, salt and pepper squid, bangers and mash and they were all very yum.

Just an average really. Steak was just okay, pasta a bit better but still average. It’ll be a good place if the focus is more on having a good chat with some drinks. Otherwise, would rather go to other restaurants for nicer food.

Superb seafood chowder with mussels. Toasted baguette. Lion Red & Little Creatures on draft. Welcoming friendly staff. Old style pub in an historic building. Loved the experience.

We visited here tonight and ate a hearty dinner. They have a kids menu which is always a winner! Traditional pub food at reasonable prices. Hamburgers, bangers and mash, nachos etc. The cocktails were good at about $16 each. Upstairs is a pool table and dart board for those wanting to settle in for a couple of hours. Great location in Devonport.
