The Patriot-Your Devonport Pub

Just arrived from the US and stumbled upon a converted old bank turned pub in Devonport and loved it. We enjoyed a Guinness steak pie, squid rings, fish and chips, and a couple of pints. While it’s a casual, self-service setup, the food was delicious, and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. A great find!

Dinner date with my husband on a quiet Monday night.nOMG do yourself a favour and try the ribs. Succulent, fall off the bone ribs. Complimented by the fries and tender coleslaw, like nothing I’ve had before.nMy husband had the seafood chowder, which was just as amazing.nCould not fault anything, the rustic pub, and great background music made for a memorable meal. Highly recommended.

The food was quite delicious. The fish and chips were nice and hot but yet not greasy. Of course a nice cold Guinness with a good head tops everything off. Service was actually quite good. I did order at the bar, pay at the bar, and the food was delivered fairly quickly. The more I eat here in Auckland the tradition is to order and pay at the bar in the food gets delivered to your table. This was nothing different. I would definitely return again as their menu looks quite delicious

Absolutely amazing! I had the fish and chips with my partner having the fish tacos.nnMy fish and chips were exactly what I’ve been craving recently, crispy, non-greasy beer batter paired with enough chips to fill you up- and a salad to cut the grease.nnFrom what I hear her fish tacos & chips were excellent too. Will be coming back!

We visited here tonight and ate a hearty dinner. They have a kids menu which is always a winner! Traditional pub food at reasonable prices. Hamburgers, bangers and mash, nachos etc. The cocktails were good at about $16 each. Upstairs is a pool table and dart board for those wanting to settle in for a couple of hours. Great location in Devonport.
