From the moment we arrived looking very unglam in our sweaty biking gear! we were made to feel special. The food was outstanding - fish tacos and oyster rolls to start followed by harpuka steak. Gorgeous location and stunning fit out. We had the enormous pleasure of meeting Josh Emmett while there and he chatted to us like long lost friends - what a super lovely gentleman he is! All staff were superb from front of house to our waiter. I've eaten in many top restaurants around the world and I think a kiwi dining experience is second to none. Well done Oyster Inn team!
We had a fabulous dinner at The Oyster Inn on Valentines night. We were seated on the verandah and had stunning views of the ocean as the sun was setting. Our waiter was quick and efficient. I had the crayfish linguine and it was delicious. The coconut margarita was so good. We will definitely be back. We also loved how we could scan a QR code at our table and pay our bill without having to go up to the counter. So simple.
We had one of the best dinner experiences here. The service was incredible and the food was heavenly. We were lucky to have a table on the balcony with beautiful sea views. The battered oysters were fresh and flavoursome and the crayfish linguine was delicious. My husband had the pork and he said it was one of the best meals he’s ever had. The restaurant was accommodating with a couple of modifications to suit our tastes. We will definitely be back!
Good:nThe food was mostly amazing. The cocktails were great, and the mac and cheese was absolutely delicious. We also had the crayfish linguine, which was fantastic. The karaage chicken was tasty as well, though it was a bit too sweet for our liking.nnBad:nWe made a reservation for 5:00 pm and arrived on time, but were told our table wasn’t ready and had to wait about 15 minutes. That was a little off-putting, especially since we had booked in advance.nnOverall:nGreat food and drinks, but the wait despite having a reservation slightly took away from the experience.
We revisited this fabulous restaurant on our most recent trip to Waiheke. Our first time was two years ago for our wedding on the island and I hadn’t stopped thinking about the fish mousse since, and that dish is still on POINT! We ordered it along with delicious oysters and a local wine. The staff is lovely and a seat on the balcony outside is so nice. And if it gets a little too chilly, they give you a cozy blanket!
