I went here for lunch today and it was honestly one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. I got the beer-battered snapper, which had a perfectly light and crispy batter, and the snapper itself was tender and full of flavour. The chips were the real standout — soft like mashed potatoes on the inside, crispy on the outside, with little crunchy crevices that made them irresistible. The salt and pepper squid was also fantastic. The lovely couple who run this place, along with their big friendly dog Andy, were warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!
If you're looking for a place that serves up incredible fish and chips, this restaurant is a must-visit! The fish is perfectly battered and fried to golden perfection, with a flaky and tender interior that makes each bite a delight. The chips are crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, complementing the fish beautifully.nnThe burger is also a standout – juicy, flavorful, and served with all the right toppings. It's clear the kitchen takes pride in sourcing quality ingredients and crafting satisfying dishes.nnBeyond the food, the restaurant itself is adorable, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to spend time in. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Whether you're in the mood for classic fish and chips or a hearty burger, this spot delivers in both taste and charm. Highly recommended!
We've had some amazing food here over the years and though the quality has gone up and down we keep going back. The atmosphere, especially on a Friday night, is always great.
Following a previous visit last year, we decided to come back to try one of their other offerings.nnA major dissapointment this time.nnMy wife had fish and chips, and she was dissapointed in what she received for her meal, expensive for the size of the meal.nnI ordered ceviche, and they totally killed it with chilli.nnI love chilli and have it every morning in tomato juice, so I am well acquainted and understand the heat it provides, but this was ridiculous.nnHowever give credit where credit is due, they took it back, apologised and supplied me another meal at no charge which was good, cannot fault this.nnThe manager who was on duty, that I spoke to that night, was excellent.nnAlthough the civechi stated in the list of contents chilli, it would be wise for them if they were going to keep this menu as it was supplied to me, to quote it as very hot.nThen future patrons would be aware of what they were going to get.nnThe quantity of the meal supplied has certainly been reduced since our last visit, and it verges on an entree size, as it is not a main meal, especially noting the prices.nnThe view here is spectacular.nn*****nnHad the best Prawn cocktail ever, the service here was spot on.nnThey suggested that we just wait a minute or two before we were about to sit down, as another couple were about to leave a table with a much better view, now that's real service.nnMy wife had calimari which was excellent, and my son had Taco's.nnSo all in all the food, and service was 5 stars and I rarely if ever give 5 stars, which indicates that they can't do better, this place cannot be faulted. It is a must visit, prices are a little high, but after all it is Waiheke!
one of the best meals i’ve had while on my vacay in australia and new zealand. ingredients tasted fresh, not overcooked or oily. first time having tiger beer and glad i gotnthe pint. nice light lager that went great with my fish and chips. and the views here are worth it.
