We didn't stay in at the hotel but we ate for lunch here. I highly recommend trying this place during your adventure at Waiheke Island. Be sure to seat on the balcony and enjoy the fresh air and view of the ocean and Oneroa Beach!Service: 4/5
The Oyster is lovely. The vibe is great and the waiter was so sweet, patient and helpful and also quite fun. The decor and locale are excellent. Wine selection good. Only thing that let our experience down was the main course. 2 of 3 of our party had the pork. It was not as tasty as expected plus we both commented that the expectation was that the pork would be a bit crispy on the outside. Salad was great. Potatoes excellent.
Great food, lovely service. Adult fish and chips and mussel pasta, kids fish and chips all ordered and yum. Oysters tasty too. Cocktails superb. We had an early booking at 5pm with 2 adults and a 4 year old. Staff went out of their way to engage with our daughter. Weather was average. Can imagine this place just lovely on a warm summers eve.
Went for a birthday dinner, luckily they managed to fit us in as we hadn't booked. The food was delicious. The best oysters I've had with mignonette. Service was great and made us feel so welcome. Liked the more 'foodie' dishes over the standard ones fish and chips however it was good fish and chips by any standards.Food: 5/5
Absolutely wonderful, my husband and I have been eating all across NZ north to south and this is a meal we will not forget. The oysters were super fresh with a fine dressing, optional. The mussel linguine was something I’ll dream about, truly. The atmosphere was also super great. Good music and vibes. The staff was lovely a must visit!
The staff were great and so was the food. We were fortunate to have had a spot on the deck on a beautiful day. I particularly recommend the crudo, although we enjoyed a number of the seafood dishes - but I really want to go back and try the slow roasted shoulder of lamb too....
Wonderful Sunday lunch with the family! Great fish tacos, the wee oyster rolls, so tasty!! Eggplant was lovely, but on the smallish side for a main for both of the ladies at our table. Our men folk ordered the mussel pasta and loved it but likewise thought the portions were on the smaller side. The only generous portion dish was the steak, but why come to Oyster Inn for the steak? Anyway, our service was excellent and the views divine. Our only criticism would be on the portion sizes of the mains. We'll be back!
On our first night's stay at the Inn, we had an amazing dinner. So much so, we came for dinner on our last night too. We were not disappointed. So much flavour in the market fish of the day. Definitely get the clams and the Oysters and the fish sausage roll. I could go on and on. Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Thank you.
Took visiting family to Waiheke and knew from previous visits that the Oyster Inn was the place to take them for lunch. The food and service was amazing with perfect recommendation of wines to match. The Local Oysters are definitely worth it and all of our mains were truly stunning. A great spot to visit for a nice lunch or dinner overlooking the amazing scenery.
If you are looking for a an arrogant treatment by the restaurant manager that’s the place for you. Booked initially for 4 people, amended literally after 10 minutes to 5 people and when we came in, the restaurant manager told us that she did not have 5 seats and we had to leave or just 4 of us could seat…ridiculous! If don’t want more customers, that’s the right behavior. Food was good, overpriced for an average Sunday lunch. Probably they can afford this behavior being one of the few restaurants in town, if it was somewhere else it’d be already closed.
