"Opening July 8th, 2021Located just a short distance from Shoreditch High Street Station, BAO Noodle Shop is inspired by the beef noodle shops of Taiwan. Diners can perch around an open kitchen where chefs serve bowlfuls of beef noodle soup, a selection of BAO and BAO BING desserts to finish. For those looking to continue their night, there is a downstairs bar and two Entertainment rooms with Karaoke systems."

There is something so nostalgic and warm about this place. The service is warm, welcoming and truly inviting. The seating is a little refined but the atmosphere is appealing and the food is great! As a first time visit, the servers were so helpful with our choices and recommendations. They were passionate and it made me all the more excited about the food! The lamb dumping we're so flavoursome, light and moreish, the chicken bao was so yummy! The hidden star was the peanut milk drink wow so good, reminds me of Jamaican peanut punch but a lot lighter and mildly refreshing. Can't wait to return!
We like the buns at Bao @Borough Market. But we are very disappointed with this noodle shop. The size of the dumplings were tiny and have a funny taste-- £8!!! The beef noodle looked nice. Unfortunately, the beef cheek and short rib were too thin. The soup was absolutely salty!!! And the texture of the noodle wasn't up to my expectation.... Well, maybe I have a higher expectation. Its nothing like the traditional Taiwanese Beef Noodle. The service of the waiters were quite good though. Sorry this is our first and last time visit.
Eating at BAO Noodle Shop was a fab experience. The waiting system was nice, with your food is brought out in courses which is great so it could all be eaten hot! Really enjoyed the classic bao my go-to and the Taiwanese fried chicken was also great! Wasn’t so much a fan of my beef noodles but I think that was due to personal taste, but over all enjoyable!
Delicious food prices and service charge would suit, but service was a bit sparing had to guess everything ourselves. Again everything was tasty and fresh but the soup wasn't hot at all, lukewarm in minutes, finished it loved the flavor but the temp was memorable enough that I probably wouldn't come back for that price
You should believe this place is super lovely. We did go when it was a little busy but staff were attentive and kind and lovely. They explained the menu which was helpful. Food and flavours always top notch and the drinks boom. We got the raspberry flavour yukult drink and some buns. Really superb concept for overall chain but this one takes my gold stars for the interior style. Will have to revisit often. It’s a little on the pricey side with bun and drink about £5 each but tbh it’s central London and you pay for the whole experience not just the awesome flavours.
It’s the first time I come since its opening and I have to say that BAO never fails my expectations. We only got noodles and some fried chicken, which were all very good. The atmosphere/design is always too perfect.
Yesterday was my first visit of Bao Noodle Shop, I’m a big fan of the brand and food. The noodle soup was unbelievable, broth was super flavourful and the ox cheek fell apart. The fried chicken is also to die for.
the vegan aubergine noodles - the broth was extremely salty so that we could not eat it and it seemed the one from itsu. The aubergines were cooked in a batter that completely disintegrated in a mush when mixed in the broth see picture. Clearly the recipe calls for a different cooking method. The Bao were nice but the portion is tiny for the price 7.50. Bone daddies does 2 baos at the same price. The manager gave us the spinach for free but instead he should have removed the noodles from the bill as we didn’t even eat it. I would not recommend if you are vegetarian or vegan as they have few choices and not great.
Been here four times, first two times was a disappointment with long wait times and having to wait for quite a while just to take my order and get the bill. Table beside had the same experience as well. However pleased that has completely changed from my third visit, when service was prompt and efficient, with staff sharing the recommended order portion appetiser, main and a snack, would say my best visit and experience yet! Also tried the peanut milk, it was pretty pricey for a glass of milk but was so worth it. Would recommend!
Very quick and efficient service staff here are lovely and and explain everything really well. Very simple and easy to order menu. The interior is simply gorgeous. The beef noodles is simply morish and packed with flavour. Nice selection of BAOs aswell. Would recommend the peanut milk if you're not allergic, simply refreshing.
