This was my second visit to this restaurant after a gap of three years, and I am thrilled to report that the standard remains exceptionally high across the menu.nnWe ordered the mussels pot and found it just as fantastic as I remembered: the mussels were fresh and plump, and the broth was perfectly seasoned and deeply flavorful. We also ordered the grilled mussels and the pasta, and both dishes were excellent as well.nnIt is rare to return to a favorite spot after so long and find the quality unchanged and consistent across the board. It was a wonderful meal and truly a highlight of my trip. I will absolutely make sure to come back again on my next visit to New Zealand. Highly recommended!
Instant a 6 points after you ate the first piece of mussel. Divinely and much better than the mussel in pot in Europe. Looking forward to come back again.
I took my parents, partner, and our three kids to The Mussel Pot for a meal. The food was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was really nice — a great spot for a family lunch.nnThe service, however, could have been better. The staff seemed a bit annoyed when we asked for extra butter and again when my mum asked for more tartare sauce, even though we said we were happy to pay.nnIt was also quite expensive, and it would be great if they offered a kids’ ice cream size or smaller option for children.nnOther than that, everything was lovely. The food itself was top-notch, and I’d still recommend The Mussel Pot for anyone visiting — especially for the amazing mussels and relaxed setting.
We chose this place because we had read that it was excellent... But the reality exceeded our expectations! The food is very good. Alessandro, the chef, is superb, and all the staff are courteous and kind. The green mussels are special; we had the mussel pot with a bit of everything, the calamari, and two desserts... The cheesecake and ice cream are delicious! The local wine is also excellent! We will recommend everyone to come here and make a stop!
If you're a seafood/mussel lover, this is a great place for you to try! They have a variety of flavours for their steamed mussels but we had a mussel platter to share instead which came with fried, fresh, smoked, battered etc. All amazing and also had a chowder with bread and a mussel burger which were highly rated too
