Best pub meal we've had on our travels from Auckland to Nelson. Chef clearly puts effort into the small details which made the whole meal that much better. Friendly service all round as well.
We parked our small van behind the hotel for the night and enjoyed the warm hospitality and excellent dinner of mussels and pizza inside. A big warm bar with a positive friendly local feel. Worth stopping.
I stayed overnight on a winter biking trip. The hotel was excellent, My room was immaculate and cosy. This is a fine example of the classic small town pub, which needs to be used, enjoyed and preserved.
Stopped in at the pub on our way to the bay - I ordered pizza and my partner ordered mussels, the server was really lovely and provided recommendations on where to find good coffee. The pizza was delicious, as were the mussels, and all reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back - thanks!
