What a cool place situated in New Regent street which is always a fun night location! Once you step inside you are welcomed with 100’s of whiskey options & a very cool vibe with 2 staircases that lead up into 2 lounge spaces. There’s also room downstairs & outside so there’s plenty of choice for a quieter or more open area. The space has truly been maximised and it is cool! We happened on Wednesday evening where there was an Irish band playing& singing upstairs casually around the table - wow! The menu is seriously extensive so do ask for advice! Service attentive and efficient. Will definitely return & there’s loads of other options if whiskey isn’t your thing. Beware of the tiny bathroom space tucked under the stairs it’s a drop down which caught me out!
Only bar in Christchurch on WorldTop50 website featured as one to “look out for” and thought we would give it a go. The design was immaculate and everything I would love in a bar. I only tried one cocktail so I’m not sure how legitimate my review would be but I thought the Regent Old Fashioned could be better. Crushed ice very quickly melted in my drink and that wasn’t ideal. Service however was tops here and we had a great chat with one of the staff member working there.
I love good whiskey. This place has so many different brands of whiskey and I finally got to sample a whiskey from Wales! A nice relaxed vibe and curtious staff. A really chill place to go for a decent quality drink.
Christchurch bar a whiskey fan CANNOT miss. Had one of the best times with the recommendations from Cori hope I spelled it right. Do ask for help since the whiskeys off the menu will certainly blow your mind!
Tasty drinks! I ordered a ruby blush and my husband ordered an old fashion. Great decor. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating and the look of the bar.
I was pretty sure I’d enjoy the whiskies at The Last Word being a whisky lover and long-time SMWS member but I also really enjoyed the cocktails! Cory and Charles were both fantastic, and we made sure to visit a second time before flying out. Will be back!

One of the rarest and most exciting collections, friendly and knowledgeable staffs who always recommends the right thing for you. An experience unlike most bars, a place for true drink lovers.
Went there for a Whiskey tasting. Had never done one before, knew very little about it all and it was amazing! The fella that took it Cory? I think it was was extremely knowledgeable and was great at telling us all about the whiskeys as well as the history behind them etc. Cool wee stop, definitely worth a look
Lovely espresso martini. Though the service was very slow and never came back to take a re-order for drinks. Nice vibe though and excellent choice if you like whisky
