Food, ambiance, and service was fantastic! Hats off to the lady who always kept an eye out for us : For mains we ordered surf n' turf and the lamb shank. Both tasted really good and serving size was pretty huge. Lamb was soft and tender, coming off the bone. We had the triple chocolate brownie for dessert and honestly, that portion is perfect for two people. I definitely think this is one of the best gastropubs there is in south

It's a great place and after covid they are training staff, so you need to be patient. I had scollaps wrapped in Bacon - amazing The other meal was Fettuccine and it was great Mains were Brisket and Ribs, both amazing. Well done chef! After several visits, the food has been consistently good with generous portions and service is excellent. Steaks are cooked to perfection and the pepper sauce is next level. Pork belly and pork belly bites are a must if you love the crunch of a good crackling.

Delicious food coming from the kitchen my steak was cooked perfectly and the seafood chowder was to die for. Awesome service from Front of House and the cocktails were tasty. Thank you Good Home Takanini for a great family night out.
A gem amongst industrial The Good Home definitely deserves the title. Nice atmosphere and lots of floor space with good seating arrangements. Great service and mains/sides to match. Able parking and accomodating hours of trade. Recommend.

Ordered lamb shank served with mash and vegetables. The food came in a pasta bowl, so it wasn't easy to cut the lamb due to the deepness of the bowl. The shank was cooked we'll that the flesh fell off the bone, however the tomato paste sauce was very tangy and slightly bitter and unpleasant to eat. The lamb had parts that were not seasoned. I found a big burnt blob of tomato paste which I presume contributed to the bitter taste. Overall I did like the creamy mashed potatoes and the 4 Courgette slices and 2 carrots. My friend ordered the 5 spices pork belly to which she said was ‘a no spice pork belly’. It came with fried potato pieces, sliced courgettes and carrot pieces. Lacked in flavour and overall meal was bland to eat.
Excellent service from staff. They were kind and friendly. We hoped the food would have been a bit better though, it missed some essential flavors that we hoping to get. We've had the same dishes elsewhere and found that this place missed to hit the spot. It was a bit pricey too compared to the other restaurants around. I would encourage you to go if it's your first time, personally I wouldn't repeat.
