The staffs at the counter were friendly but not the waitress who shoved us at the side as we were queuing to order. They should’ve known that their small cafe counter is not in an ideal spot so they could’ve have directed customers where to line up or maybe use an app to order from the table instead?nFortunately the coffee and cabinet food were good and the outside sitting area was nice.
If you are even near Dannevirke, you must stop in for at least a coffee so you experience the amazing energy in The Forge! Restaurant was busy with people of all ages eating meals who were wearing big smiles. Dessert cabinet was simply brimming with mouth-watering sweets with the coolest names.
Too noisy to talk to fellow diner. I have a sensitive ear i I asked if music could never turn down. It went off.....for 2 minutes the on again just as loud. So we left and went across the road for a lovely brunch.nIt wasn't busy! There were only a few people when we got there.
Arrived at 1.20PM in the restaurant and was told food could not be ordered anymore since kitchen was closing at 1.30. Was pushed rudely to the side by one of the waitresses wanting to get through. Ordered food from the counter even though kitchen was technically still open. Food was mediocre, bottom part of the bagel was very soggy while the upper part was super hard. We did not feel welcome, it was clear they didn't want to do the effort anymore of serving us 40 minutes before closure. The young cashier was friendly though.
Our new favourite place to eat when passing through Dannevirke! Best mushrooms ever! Huge portions, friendly staff and great coffee too. The cabinet food is homemade and looks amazing. We’ll done team :-
