Just deliciousness in every single mouthful. Definitely coming back. Pork belly was soft, juicy and tender. Great crackling. Incredible broccolini, calamari, fries ... oh just everything ... seriously good
Absolutely blown away by High St Bistro. Service was amazing + Nicole is so welcoming, it felt like we were being greeted by a long time friend. Drinks - Cocktails were top notch, the Rosebud was my favourite. And the food - holy smokes, every bite was incredible! We had the calamari & duck dumplings to start. These are both an absolute must! The flavour in the dumplings was unreal. Mains - we had the pasta and the fish. Both were great - so fresh and so much flavour in every bite.nn100% would recommend - Thanks for an amazing meal, we cannot wait to come back!
We had heard good things about this place so made the journey to check it out. We were completely blown away... The staff were brilliant, even other customers were friendly You know you've aced hospitality when this happens!nnThe food was amazing, easily comparable to the quality you'd expect at high end establishments in Auckland or Wellington. The portion sizes were larger than expected which was a bonus, it's always easier to share the tasty morsels when there's enough to go round! However, the struggle was real when trying to make room for dessert.nnWe're really looking forward to coming back and trying out the new menu!nnAnd I didn't even get a chance to talk about the cocktail list... Well, you'll just have to go in and check it out for yourselves
A showcase in NZ hospitality.nnThe High Street Bistro delivers exceptional food in a unique setting served by some of the friendliest staff we've encountered.nnWe arrived on a wet Friday night, tired and hungry without a reservation.nTaking the last unbooked seats by the door, we were made very welcome and as we finished our starters, we were offered a nicer table that had become available.nnWe shared the pork belly rolls starter.nExpertly cooked pork, crisp crackling and just a little spice to tie it all together in the toasted milk buns.nMains stole the show, the slow cooked lamb shoulder simply melted in the mouth and the crumbed fish of the day was divine.nPortions were very good, meaning a desert was a step too far. Based on the earlier courses however, we expect good things.nThe house wine was just as delicious as the food coming out of the kitchen.nNicole and her team were friendly, polite and attentive, really complementing the beautiful setting, vibrant atmosphere and top class food.nnIf we're ever back this way, we'll be heading to the High Street Bistro again, with an eye on 3 courses!
Went there for a work function.nAll I can say is WOW!!!nAwesome table service from Nicole and Tyla.nNothing was too much trouble, all my dietary needs were taken care of and I was presented with a stunning meal, that tasted incredible. WOW!!!nSuch a fantastic experience- felt truly special and totally catered for.nCampbell, Brock and Nicole have created a wonderful local dining experience.nWill definitely be back!!!
