Food was pretty good. Prawn burger was amazing but the Korean fried chicken had too much batter and too much sauce. Fries were great. Asahi was cold and very refreshing but overpriced. $12 from the tap for what seems to be a 330ml pour. Even if it was an NZ pint at 425ml, it would be ridiculously priced. Service here is what completely ruins this place. The service is completely non existent despite seeing 6 floor staff casually walking around and 2 owners sitting on their laptops. The place WAS at capacity but the staff still had absolutely no urgency or intention to check on tables, clear tables, check waters, take second drinks orders etc. The staff would routinely just mosey past tables that had dirty plates on them and would not clear until a table would eventually settle the bill. Every table looked noticeably irritated by this service so the atmosphere suffered and was a little edgy.
Visited twice. Satisfied with both the food and services. Good coffees good vibe and good dishes. I have tried twice the Egg Bene with slab baconjust really like the Hollandaise sauce which taste a little bit sweet but not greasy. Only the poached eggs were a little over boiled. For the fried chicken burgerit's the Korean fried chicken flavor. The meat should be drumstick other than chest. Tender and juicy. Recommend with four stars.
Absolute smashing dishes from this place! Their shrimp scampi spaghetti pasta is a true winner that has kept me coming back. I love a place that has consistency with their execution of their meals. Packed with flavour and perfect portion sizes. Great service and not a long wait time. Would highly recommend to those who want quality food that doesn’t feel rushed on flavour and want a nice dining experience!
This restaurant is undoubtedly an amazing one! We came for my birthday and what an amazing experience, from start to finish everything was perfect. Loved the Egg bene. So delicious. I'll be back with my partner for sure!
Heard lot about this place and the success it has and it didn't disappoint, customer service is great and on point. Very busy which is great to see and the food is fantastic, small portions relative to the price 2 main dishes one side dish and two small fw without any add ons or alternatives $62 but overall just great place for a date. The coffee they use is supreme coffee rosters and they managed to extract it on point very satisfied overall.
Ordered the Omurice rice - flavours were great. Added the pork belly which is always a must. Sphaghettini, with prawns was also very good with lots of prawns. Was busy during lunch, food took 30mins to come out. 5/5 for food 4/5 for atmosphere and staff
Came to grab a cup of coffee in the morning and was surprised how cute this place was. They have plenty of options if you're feeling hungry and the space is quite large and Percy if you want to stay and work. I got a chai latte and it was perfect for what I needed. The drink had a great blend of spices that really gave you that morning hug of warm and coziness feeling. Service was friendly and quick.
I just love this place. I've only been here once so far but I would easily recommend The Candy Shop to others like I'm a frequent who knows the place like the back of my hand. I find their menu items to have a lovely balance of cosy familiar food × new twist. Cool staff and trendy atmosphere vibes - 5/5 from me!
Been wanting to dine at this popular spot in Newmarket for a while and was happy with my lunch experience. The bibimbap was amazing and went well with the sauce. The prawn burger was also nice. I did expect the portion to be a little bigger given the price but they were generous with each component of the dishes so that’s all good. Service was on point.
We've been meaning to try The Candy Shop for such a long time and we finally did it today and it is really great. Their coffees are full of flavor and the food we had was spot on. The scampi pasta was one of the best we had. We ordered omurice with pork belly on a side so my son can have it but, although it was cooked to perfection, the porkbelly was tasteless. Maybe it was meant to be eaten only combined with the omurice I feel that's the case. All in one, great place and I cannot recommend more!
