The Cake Stall

Went there today and will never go back. I specifically asked if the cronut and scone were bake today and was told that they were. Stupidly, I believe the shopkeeper and purchased the 2 items. They must have been at least a week old as they were hard and dry. I believe that this shop has changed hands... What a pity because the food there was particularly good! I will never darken their doors again.

Bought a lemon dream cake for my husbands birthday, it was fully soaked in syrup to the point where the cake was just WET and SOUR! You just could not eat it! This is not the first time it has happened; because this wasn’t the first time this has happened, I SPECIFICALLY asked them to go easy with the syrup and they confirmed that they will. Instead I get a cake completely opposite to what I ordered. They don’t seem care when you complain or take much responsibility. My husband went to return the cake as majority of it was uneaten so they can see for themselves and was explaining to the woman there the issue with the cake and she walked away midway through the conversation and refused to listen to anything else, handed an envelope with money and carried on doing whatever she was doing! WORST customer service, totally unprofessional. Such a shame, we will definitely not be back here again. They lack basic respect for people! DISGUSTING!!! Strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

Nice staff but they microwave pastry and spoil very nice flavoured pastries.

Just found this shop. Love it! Most delicious food. Savory, sweet, with the most lovely coffee. Oh and Staff where the most helpful and friendly. Going beyond to accommodate. I'll be definitely coming again ! Thank you very much.

I bought cupcake and tried pastry as well. Pastry is dry same as the cupcake I think it’s been kept for days.

This is one of the FEW places that knows how to make a long black properly. None of that "fill-it-to-the-top" coffee that other cafes oblviously dish out. Kia ora to The Cake Stall for your wonderful friendly service and delish food too.

Pathetic customer service. The lady who works there is extremely rude. Unwilling to do much to fix the problem. Had a problem with their lemon cake tasting off and we were left embarrassed in front of our guests, they didn’t do much to solve the problem, gave me refund and told me it’s a “gift” from them after I had to take time out to drive back & return the cake. The same thing has happened before and they just don’t seem to be improving. I’m never going back there again.

Best custard squares in the World ... Tastes just like Grandma used to make and brings back great memories ! Really enjoy catching up with friends there as has great atmosphere and always makes a good coffee and of course something yummy to eat ...

Wonderful food and coffee prepared by the best international executive Chef Vaughn formally head Chef from the Norwegian Cruise Line. Just amazing that you can bring your many talents to Royal Oak Vaughn.We are so lucky . Every item is baked and displayed as if it is a special item for the centre piece of a very exotic table. Brought a lemon cake for a birthday and was really looking forward to trying it, but unfortunately, it was a bit of a disappointment! The cake sponge tasted old like cardboard & the icing and cream had a back taste to it, which wasn't nice Not a good buy!!!
