What a cool wee bar, went with a friend to see her friends band with an 80s theme ... wow what a great night : Staff were very pleasant drinks were served fast, we got loaded wedges very hot and covered in cream cheese, cheese and bacon. Yum. The toilets were easy to get to and no lines. Totally recommend this bar if you are looking for a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. There's $20 roast meals on Sundays just FYI. The Danger80s band were fantastic, all the 80s classics, easy to sing along too and two really good sets. Room to dance and sing along. They are playing on the 1st May at the Richmond Club. Totally recommend this band if you love good music, a laugh and a dance.
Best 80s night ever, band rocked out, lots of great dress ups and leg warmers. We had loaded wedges ... very loaded. Looking forward to another night there.
I visited The Brook Bar on a Sunday afternoon and was left very disappointed. I initially asked for the pork bites but was told the kitchen was closed, and only a snack menu was available. I chose the chicken wings instead.nnWhen the meal arrived, I was immediately put off by the look and smell of the chicken—it simply didn’t seem right. The taste confirmed my concerns; it was not enjoyable and felt far below acceptable standards. I approached the male manager to explain the issue and asked if I could swap the meal for nachos or receive a refund. He refused both requests, stating that no one else had complained that day. Instead, I was offered a takeaway box, which didn’t address the quality issue I had just raised.nnI left promptly without a replacement meal or a refund. The lack of concern from the management was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reluctant to return, and I hope this feedback prompts the team to take customer concerns more seriously in the future.
Standards have slipped.nToday was pretty bad, to be brutally honest.nnI have been coming here quite regularly for the Roast Dinners, which are usually tender and well trimmed, with elegantly sliced and well presented vegetables, accompanied by good quality gravy and other sauces.nnThe roast beef was tough and fatty, the Yorkshire pudding was overcooked and very dry. The gravy was jelly-like and lacking flavour, and there was only a tiny spoonful of horseradish in the accompanying ramakin. The vegetables, were cooked adequately but lacked the aforementioned elegance.nnThe roast pork was 40% fat and the crackling smelt and tasted of fish.nThe vegetables were cooked and presented as above and there was barely a hint of gravy on the plate.nnHad this of been my first time here at the Brook, unfortunately it would most definitely be my last.
Usually very good, but I normally get a steak meal. Several people at our table were disappointed by the tiny amount of gravy on the roast meal, and were told it was three dollars for extra gravy. I thought that was pretty ridiculous considering we were spending around $300 on our table meals.
