The Boatshed Hotel

Very hard to express just how magical and amazing our experience was staying at The Boatshed recently. Jonathan and his team are so gentle, generous and intuitive. We felt truly relaxed and at peace throughout our 6 night stay. My husband and I were celebrating two major events and there really is nowhere else we would want to be on these occasions as the hospitality we enjoyed was truly world class. Thanks again to Sebastian who cooked us the best steak we have ever had! Barb is also a fantastic addition to the team - she is a perfect hostess. Thanks again to everyone there who looked after us so well, we will remember and treasure these memories forever. Truly the highlight of this year for us!

From the decor to the amenities, to attentiveness of the staff, the Boatshed Hotel is pure class. The breakfasts both cold and hot, including fresh baking and dinners are incredible- some of the finest meals we had in New Zealand. There is a short walk down the hill to the beach, and 15 minute walk along a beautiful path to the town for more restaurants, shopping and gelato. There is a several km walk along a coastal track accessible on foot from the hotel.

I can't say enough about this hotel, owners and staff. The place is first class with all kinds of little special touches you can't even imagine. From owner transport to welcome drinks to cookies and soft drinks in the room, every detail is thought of and delivered with love. The chef is an exceptional talent, and breakfast and dinners are a culinary experience that shouldn't be missed. The design and views of the hotel are as unique as the experience. The bungalows are roomy, so comfortable with beautiful views. Access to renatl car for the day is a great touch. Thanks to everyone for making our first trip to Waiheke memorable.

Everything about The Boatshed is pure magic. The staff is absolutely outstanding. Jonathan and his whole team were the calmest most relaxing people who helped us with any and everything we needed, most of the time without us even asking! From the moment we were picked up at the ferry, we had the most incredible time. The food is outrageously good- both breakfast and dinner were our best meals on the entire island during our 3 days. The room was so lovely, clean, spacious, and the housekeeping staff was so wonderful. The views are amazing, the location is perfect as you are removed from town but it’s so close to walk into town or to the beach. If we didn’t live so far we’d be back multiple times a year!

My wife and I having been staying as often as we can with Jonathan, David and the team for nearly 14 years. We find the experience they have created for guests is fantastic! If you are looking for that special getaway to a place where you can relax and be well looked after, then look no further than the wonderful 'The Boatshed Hotel'. The location at Oneroa, on Waiheke Island, overlooking the beach and bay, is beautiful. Go there if you can, you won't be disappointed.
