Based in Half Moon Bay Marina on Auckland's Waitemata Harbour, theBoatBuilders are an experienced team ready to take care of all your boating needs.

Story

The Boat Builders have been in operation since 1980, originally set up by Peter Millen, the business is built on quality of craftsmanship, reliability and reputation. In February 2015, the reins to the business were handed over to one of his original apprentices, Joe Richardson.

Starting out in small tin shed, the business has grown to two large workshops in Half Moon Bay Marina which can facilitate and store anything from a dinghy to a 60ft launch.

The onsite travel-lift, lifts vessels up to 35 tonne, and our qualified tradesman can work with any range of boat building job. Including structural or cabinet work, timber or fibreglass, insurance work to major refits. We can refurbish teak decks or replace if necessary and can undertake installation of holding tanks and bowthrusters, keel rebeds, hull/duckboard extensions, bait tanks, hardtops and rot repairs.

Located at the hardstand end of Half Moon Bay Marina, we have the added benefit of offering a one-stop service of all marine facilities including marine engineering, outboard/inboard motor servicing, spray painting, anti-fouling, electronic installation and electrical repairs, stainless steel fabrication, marine refrigeration, upholstery, rigging and sailmaking.

Together with these service companies at Half Moon Bay Marina, we run an integrated service of looking after you boat in combination with one another.

We have a full surveyed vessel available for salvage work and towing of boats.
