Amazing food and service! The calamari and cured raw fish were my favourite! Also loved the complimentary homemade sourdough and lemon brown butter curd served on arrival. The option to pay $65 for a entree, main and dessert was great value for money. We will definitely be back!
If you are in Taupo make sure to try The Bistro! We were there for dinner over Easter weekend and the food is stunning. We had rabbit terrine as entree not pictured then the beef with creamy spinach and mushrooms the white foam hides a delicious ravioli and the duck with veggies. I wished the duck had more variety of textures. Although both meats were beautiful cooked and the portions are perfect! Dessert was a creme brulee which was full of vanilla seeds and not too sweet, it was just right. Will definitely come again to check the seasonal changes.
As food lovers, we reserved both nights in Taupo for The Bistro. The menu at The Bistro is relatively simple. We tried almost everything on the menu and they were all very pleasing to the eye. The chef's selection of ingredients, the deployment of sauces, color matching, and plate presentation are like the impressionist painter Monet, soft and harmony. Dedicated service, tasteful decoration and cuisine are like a piece of jazz, making people relax and joy. The only thing you need to remember is to book in advance. See you next time in Taupo
Always such a personal and delicious experience, can't wait to go back for our annual anniversary dinner in September. It's hubby's only good steak in town so he got a treat for his birthday this time. So sad when all the food is gone and eaten and we can't afford to buy any more. Ideally we would have had double of the starters we chose and seconds of our mains also.
Here has Kids menu. My boy loved the creamy paster. The market fish dish was very nice with spicy pumpkin mash. Make sure book in advance as they were quite busy.
We were a group of 8 that was on a time limit. The food and drinks were divine, didnt feel rushed at all. Pork belly was melt in your mouth and the Crème Brulee went down a treat. The Sour Dough with whipped lemon curd butter was also amazing.
My friend and I were visiting Taupo for the weekend and i chose this restaurant because of its great vegetarian choices. My heart sinks when I see a pasta dish or a risotto as a main course option on a restaurant's menu. It was so lovely to see The Bistro making an effort with their vegetarian/vegan choices for entrees and main course. On top of this the food and service were impeccable. My friend who had the Scotch fillet said it was devine!
Degustation was fantastic! Food, wine and service left a lasting impression and a good one at that. If you visit Taupo, be sure to dine at The Bistro!
Great cosy bistro with excellent food and friendly service. Tried fish of the day with side olives and tap beer for drink. My son ordered scotch fillet. Food was tasty and fresh. Highly recommend to all
Delicious food here. It's our second time and the food was consistently amazing on both visits
