Excellent experience! It has just become one of our favourite restaurants We went to have our dinner. We were warmly greeted and welcomed. Although we did not have a booking, it was wee waiting time for us to be seated. Jules is a great person with great hospitality skills. He gave us a detailed introduction to the menu and told us about the restaurant specials! The staffs were friendly, full of smile and helpful We ordered Chicken Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Wings, Pad Thai Beef and Chicken Green Curry. Food were delicious and the Tom Yum Soup was the best we ever had Overall a fantastic experience! The restaurant is nicely decorated, great ambience. Will definitely go back
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! My husband and I were in Christchurch for only a couple of nights and were so fortunate to have stumbled upon Thai Orchid. The food was wonderfully prepared with exceptional attention to the details, and this truly rivaled any of the meals we recently had in Thailand. The service and ambience were stellar as well. Moreover, the cocktails are spectacular. Their espresso martini may very well be the best in the southern hemisphere! Can't wait to visit again...
Been to Thailand with their amazing food and finding an authentic Thai food in NZ is grinding. This has been the best by far, delicious, well presented and reasonable price. Service is amazing, ladies are smiling though it was a busy lunch.Recommended dishesPad Thai

Most tender salmon we’ve EVER had!!! All the dishes were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. We loved everything we ordered, extremely tasty. Big thank you to Thai Orchid Restaurant for also offering gluten free options and being open on Christmas Day. If we are ever back in Christchurch we will visit again!
Great atmosphere, good range of different types of traditional Thai meals, also some with fusion elements. Staff were excellent! Emma made us traditional Thai mango sticky rice, which was the best vegan option. So good Very reasonable prices too. Will return Vegetarian options: Big range of dishes that can be made vegetarian/vegan. Parking: Ample parking Dietary restrictions: More than happy how they met our dietary requirements.
What an awesome dinner experience. We were greeted at the door by the lovely Kristine and Jess. They engaged with us straight away and their service was amazing. The food was just as good as the service. Highly recommend and when next in Christchurch we will be backFood: 5/5
Loved the atmosphere. We went there on Sunday night and the restaurant had live music. Enjoyed every song and the guitar. Thanks, K&K. The food was fine portion wise, but they could add a bit more flavour. The staff were very friendly.Food: 4/5
Food is very decent and the service staff are very friendly and helpful. Food takes a little while to be served when the restaurant is busy and it can be 10-15mins between dishes arriving at the table. Otherwise it was a great dining experience and it’s lovely to sit outside when the weather is good.
The Thai Orchid had excellent service from Jess and Jules especially. The staff no matter how busy all come and ask your table how everythings going. The kitchen closes at 9:30pm but if you ask for a extra bowl of rice after that time, they'll provide one. The atmosphere during dinner is quite loud but you know everyone's having a good time. The food tastes delicious and is the best Thai food I've ever had.
