Te Whare Ra (TWR) Wines

Our lovely host and winemaker Anna was amazing and happy to chat about their extensive and delicious range definitely the pinots for me. Luckily for us, the ship to to the West Island via the “wine collective direct”. Well worth the visit outside harvest time but make sure to look up their 3 session times per day.

We were lucky enough to have a wine tasting with Anna, the winemaker. She was enthusiastic, friendly and so knowledgeable and of course the wines are sublime. We loved all of the wines, but especially the outstanding Pinots and the Alsace influenced Toru. Luckily the wines are conveniently available online to be delivered to Perth. A highlight of our trip to Marlborough.

Wonderful wine tasting of wonderful wines. My wife is not a great fan of white wines and I usually get half of hers at a tasting. She finished and enjoyed every one. Best tasting we have ever had.

We stopped here after visiting a large "corporate-owned" winery nearby. This is a family business that takes great care to produce wines that truly reflect the Marlborough "terroir". They produce mostly whites, along with a couple of pinot noirs. Friendly and informative co-owner/winemaker Anna took us through the tasting, and shared a lot of local knowledge.

My partner and I visited this unique cellar door on a recent holiday in Blenheim. We were greeted by Lucy who shared with passion the story behind their journey. We sampled seven delicious wines and wished we could take them all home… needless to say a selection was sent and even beat us home! Te Whare Ra is delivering top quality organic wines across the board! In our opinion you can’t go wrong and it was difficult to choose a favourite- although Riesling D and the Rose were our picks and Toru is also chilling in our fridge! Thanks team for your warmth and welcome- our best cellar-door experience in Blenheim!

Absolutely sublime wines from 2019 and 2020. Friendly and welcoming and of course informative cellar door experience. 9 wines to try. 2020 Syrah the standout- who knew Syrahs here would match Waiheke and Hawke's Bay?!
