Would definitely come again and for longer next time only had one night. First time in Te Aroha and what a cool town - walks, good cafes, fun street art, lots of town pride. Caleb the owner was welcoming and helpful on arrival and we had everything we needed. The campground is on the older end of the spectrum but our cabin was great value for money, especially with bedding and towels included. Thank you!!
We enjoyed our stay at Te Aroha and found the hosts great. The children loved the low ropes course. It was their highlight. The cabin we had was spacious and tidy. When my friend left behind some items, the host sent the items back to her via post without fuss. It was greatly appreciated.
This is a lovely place to stay, the cabin was clean and beds comfortable staff were super friendly and even got us an iron for my shirt. It was so great to be able to bring our dog with to stay here we will have to come back to try the hot pool. Thanks Jen
Good for cyclist, 18 Dollar with hot shower and hot pool. Kitchen smell a bit, all is old, you get what you pay for, cool owner and people on the ground. Street is a bit noisy. It was a good stay for me, I like this kind off places. I feel very welcome and that is importent.
Located near a fantastic hiking spot. For this price, you're definitely getting a solid place with clean toilets/showers. Wifi is pretty solid and prone to disconnecting and the permanent residents can be a bit weird sometimes, but overall a pleasent stay! Nearby activities: Go hiking at the nearby trails.
Rained solid for around 3 weeks, awesome staff, clean showers,tv room accommodating for younger kiddies, animal friendly, flying fox was out of commission, hot tub was great but only available 5pm-8pm, would have been awesome soaking in it looking at the pongas, flaxes etc in the rain. But overall we'll be back soon.
The toilet & shower facilities are older but kept clean, the playground is good, apart from the acorns on the tramp. The managers are very friendly & helpful. The pools toddlers & adults are great on a hot day, & the hot pool is on from 5 to 9. It's a real shame that the permanent residents monopolize them. My wife & mother in law felt very intimidated by them & would not swim in the hot pool, my daughter & I swam in the pool, but were pestered by one of the permanent residents. One night a domestic occurred involving a car crashing into a power pole down the road & language that my daughter need not have heard "f" & "c" words to name some. Over all the place is good, but the people staying there put us off, wouldn't go back.
A star for the playground that the kids loved but that's the best this place has. Room stinks really bad of stale smoke. We only lasted 3 hours before we all had a headache from the smell and left.
Room smelt like smoke, gave us all headaches. Swearing argument between people at the camp within a few minutes of arriving in front of my children. Not really a good family environment. We left and didn't even stay the night, very disappointed.
We stayed here for 3 amazing days. The facilities were clean tidy & comfortable. This would be amazing if you have younger kids, as there is a adventure park with a sway bridge flying fox & giant nets. For the more chilled out visitors like myself the views of the mountains are Awesome. I would come back to this Beautiful park again in a heart beat. Thank you Te Aroha Camp Grounds, yous have done yourselves proud. 5 Star Service.
