Te Akatoki Māori Students Association is an organisation that supports Māori students by providing social and cultural support during their time of study at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha.
Whanaungatanga (relationships), Manaakitanga/Aroha (care-ethic) and Ūkaipōtanga (sense of belonging) are the core values that speak to the heart of what we do at Te Akatoki. We organise events and provide support throughout the year to strengthen these uara (values), whilst providing our students with a place where they feel culturally connected and safe.
If you are a Māori student studying at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha you automatically have a membership to Te Akatoki Māori Students Association. You may, however, opt in on application to the Kaituhituhi.
