The Māia Health Foundation is on a mission to enhance the health experience in Canterbury – taking it from good to great.
Māia Health Foundation launched in May 2016 to raise funds for game-changing projects that will greatly enhance the health experience for South Islanders
Its first two projects are for a future-proofed rooftop helipad with a clinical support unit, so rescue helipcopters don’t need to land in Hagley Park - saving the average transfer time for the patient of around 13 minutes.
The other project is for major enhancements to the children’s wards at Christchurch Hospital including parents’ beds in all rooms so they don’t have to leave their child’s bedside, and age appropriate facilities and spaces for children and teenagers.
The projects require the Foundation to raise $5.2 million by late 2018.
Down the track, we’ll also be funding other health related projects across the Canterbury health system.
