Taste of Egypt Papanui Limited

Deliciously messy is my best description of Taste of Egypt! I’ve been going here for Years & it’s always fantastic! I decided to get a small & was jam packed with salad & meat as the large is too big for me. Love the flavour & speed of service. The only down is the plastic forks which I decline but you kinda need a fork as it’s a messy but amazing!

We didn't enjoy the 3 souvlaki's we had. The falafel was super spicy with too much sauce, the chicken was dry and 1 piece was pink and the triple lamb didn't have a lot of lamb in it. The salad was only cabbage and lettuce. No other fresh salad options. Disappointed spend of $48 for dinner.

I was looking for a somewhat healthy late night eating option and settled on this place because the menu looked pretty good. I was disappointed however by the two dishes I ordered, which were open souvlaki and salad, both of which came in or on pita bread. The salad was really small and was mostly sauce. The beef in the souvlaki was dry, it had too much sauce and was saturated in oil as well. So by the time I got both dishes home the pita was in edibly saturated.

Best souvlaki in Christchurch, friendly staff excellent service. You can dine in or takeaway, Mixed lamb and falafel is the best A+Food: 5/5

So good. Huge portions, spicy and flavoursome. Nice soft pita bread, and plenty of sauce. There's nothing fancy about the premises, but you're not there for the ambiance. Highly recommended

Very generous servings. Do not be tempted to upsize. Or to ask for more spicy. Next time I might dial it down to mild, even.

It was ok. I’d probably go elsewhere next time. There’s just way better souvlakis out there in chch.

Best Souvlaki in Christchurch!!! Flavours are fantastic, lots of fresh protein and produce, all the right textures in every bite. Exceptionally quick service. 10/10!!!

Been years since I last had a ‘Meat Ice-Cream’ a large Kebab Wrap from Taste of Egypt - and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Beautiful food - fresh, full of flavour - and really friendly staff as well. Also, a delicious Gluten Free option for my wife. Will definitely be back when in Chch next!!
