Location location location. Although fairly cramped, the campsite is conveniently situated at the beach and the big city is only minutes away. There is also a nice coffee joint around the corner. Great place to stay for a couple of days, if you don’t have kids. The site is barely fenced and the managers aren’t used to having kids run around. A short 5 minute tantrum was all it took for one them to walk up to us and demand “to stop it RIGHT NOW”. I would definitely rate it 4 out of 5 stars if I would have visited just by myself or with my wife.
The location is excellent, and we had really lovely, friendly service here too. It's fantastic to have the beach right there, the views of Rangitoto are gorgeous, and we loved being to be able to walk into Takapuna via the excellent playground at the beach reserve. But the waterfront sites are VERY close to the public path and not very level, the park is pretty cramped, and the facilities could just do with a bit more love to justify the price.
This is our favourite camp in NZ. The beachfront location is amazing and you can find excellent food & drinks within walking distance. Yes, it’s a bit run down but kept very clean and tidy -and with lots of Kiwi charm! Super helpful staff. We’ll be back for the fourth and many times again.
Unbelievable location being so close to Auckland CBD and surrounds, beautiful beach literally on the doorstep. Staff were helpful, cosy little site. Great local restaurants, a few minutes walk. Hope to be back next month, a fantastic stay.
If you want to know what was kiwi style camping this is the place even though it's updated for camper vans it's still like old style camping ground. Recommend it to take you back in time. Only few minutes walk to plenty of shops etc in middle of takapuna.
for my 2 weeks vacation in NZ which I stayed in around 8 holiday parks, this is the worst holiday park. the whole place is super run-down and drive-ways around the holiday park are poorly maintained. this holiday park does not provide individual clean water tap at each electric power point. it’s very inconvenient to have to go to designated points to get clean water. i strongly discourage staying in this old, poorly- maintained holiday park.
We stayed at the Campground, the views are amazing, very helpful friendly staff. The facilities were spotless. So close to town and an easy commute to the city. We will definatley be back to stay
This was my third stay in a cabin here, and it's been consistently excellent. Easy check-in, check-out, clean cabin, great amenities, beautiful outlook from the cabins, and a lovely cafe a minute's walk away.
How lucky we are to have a holiday park in such a great location . Easy access to Takapuna Beach shops and cafes . Facilities are older though very clean , staff are great . We’ll be back .
Relaxing and friendly place to stay atmosphere great for families and dogs welcome. Cafe offered awesome choice of food and drinks.Rooms: 3/5
