Stayed in unit 2. Positives - clean. Negatives- No TV remote, toilet door handle missing on the inside so you couldn't shut the door, toilet roll holder broken, towel rail broken, vanity door missing, broken shower liner. Could be a nice little chalet if it was maintained! We had bring our linen because of Covid! Really!
Inner city site with cozy pitches. Dated but clean facilities with good number to pitch ratio. Showers were great and did not cost extra. Well located for the CBD/airport.
Worst place I have ever stayed in. The bathroom was incredibly filthy, mouldy like black mould throughout and had lots of hair stuck in the drain in the shower. There where holes in the doors clearly from a domestic. To top it off its used for emergency housing, and the neighbours were up partying until 3am, loud music, drinking and doing drugs. We left a day early. Never ever stay here. It should be shut down.
Dirtiest place I've ever stayed. Stayed in a bunk room with mold on the walls, wallpaper falling off the walls, lifting lino that I kept tripping over, curtains were hung by 3 hooks each and falling to bits and very poor lighting. The smoke detector had been removed. Showers needed a really good clean and new shower mats. The 3 shower mats I found were really moldy. I don't know how they pass health and safety checks
Not ideal for people touring on holiday. More permanent residents there and some set up on powered sites. I read reviews prior to covid and thought after 2 years they may have sorted it. They haven't. Shower and toilet block was something to be desired, at least I had hot water for a shower. We got woken up at 2.30am by someone believe was a permanent resident who was either on drink or drugs or both shouting and swearing just behind us. To get WiFi you had to stand next to the office and there were some very dubious people hanging around. It says its closest to Auckland centre but still a 50 minute bus ride each way. We got up early and left and noticed others who had arrived the night before had already disappeared.
The staff seemed friendly and welcoming, and the location is conveniant. The site is not safe. Marijuana smell lingers through the site. The back end of the site looks like a refugee camp. It's clear this is emergency housing. The facilities are run down, mould covers the roof/wall/curtains. Furniture falling apart, holes in floors and walls. Filthy. The child "play area" is a accident waiting to happen. The wifi is only accessible if you stand next to the office. Fairly cheap though, would not recommend, unless you are homeless.
Mold everywhere. From the curtains, windows, ceiling, walls, shower outside and in. Very thick with black mold. Dirty and basin hanging off the wall. Holes in the walls and doors. Blood on the bedding in a large patch. I've never seen such a disgusting place. I'm also making a complaint to the council. We walked out after no sleep and a delayed international flight. Dont stay here for rest.
Booked a 2 bed apartment at $120 a night for one night. Big apartment, a lot of beds. Odd smelly odor. Outdated interior design. Neighbour's and other tenants noisy and intoxicated Some decent $20 Xtra cost for linen sheets, towels, pillows etc uNiVeRsAl ReMoTe didn't work. Stuck on music chanel. Bad music at that. Grime in shower indicates lack of cleaning and maintenance. overall, unimpressed but they had comfy beds and I slept well in my own linen.
BEWARE! Canceled our room the day of arrival knowing they couldn't take us a week ago. Useless! Then just hung up on us and worldnt reply at all. DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER.
I have stayed at many places in New Zealand and this was by far the worst. Had booked 2 rooms that stated would have a double bed and a set of bunks but was missing a bed in both rooms. One room stunk so bad of cigarette smoke and when confronted about it they didn’t care. Rooms don’t come with linen, you have to bring everything including sheets, pillows and duvets. Weren’t told about this until the day we were due to book in. Rooms are horrible and scummy and so cold and I’m not usually overly fussy. Rooms don’t come with heaters so be prepared for a cold night. Shared bathroom is full of mould. This is obviously a place used for emergency accommodation. Have been told about a lot of theft here even when the doors are left locked. You can get way better elsewhere for the same price, don’t waste your money.
