About Us

From our family to yours.

Hello, my name is Pia and this is my husband Kevin.
Nappies.co.nz was our first baby. We were considered 'pioneers' in online retailing because if you can think back to 2002 no one really shopped online or liked the idea of putting their credit card online. If you want to stretch your memory back to 1999, we were one of the first internet companies who processed credit cards live and securely in New Zealand alone. BNZ were the only bank to provide this service and we were their second customer!
We 'trained' our courier partner, Fastway Couriers, to deliver to the home. Residential deliveries were very uncommon 10 years ago. Hard to imagine now!
Since then, Kevin and I actually did marry and have two gorgeous sons, Leonardo and Roman, who are well and truly grown out of the 'baby stage'.

We always had the philosophy to sell the brands you know and trust. We've had a great relationship with Huggies over the past 10 years and as my family grew up, we thought we could grow our online family too.
We contacted the biggest manufacturers of the brands we respect and got them on-board with us.
Why non-perishable goods?

We offer big name brands that you already buy for your home. You can expect to find everything at SO from packaged foods, household essentials and personal hygiene. Everything that can't be broken, go sour or turn stinky during its journey on the courier from our place to yours.
For items like milk, fruit and veg, meat and eggs, we'd encourage you to support your local butcher and green grocer in your community. Like us, these guys also compete with the big supermarket duopoly. Also, it's nice to choose your own fruit and veg and meat yourself. I don't trust other people choosing these items for me but I'm not so worried about someone picking and packing my bathroom cleaner.

We quite often are told that www.nappies.co.nz is a 'world class' website as it is designed for tired and elated new mums to navigate. We know that we could build a website that provides household essentials for your home and www.supermarketonline.co.nz was born.
The navigation is not based on 'aisles', it's based on the rooms and needs in your family home. We've looked at what the UK and US offer their customers and when you look at the one other online site in New Zealand we thought it was unfair that we had no other choice.
Your items are packed into labelled bags to help with unpacking. For example, your Bathroom products will go into a Bathroom bag so you can take that whole bag to your bathroom. So much easier.
We have also created Two Sites - One Cart technology. This way, you can buy your baby products on www.nappies.co.nz and top-up cart with household essentials on www.supermarketonline.co.nz without leaving your sites and check out with one cart, one transaction on your credit card and one delivery.

Delivery

We deliver next working day in Auckland for orders before 2.30pm. We do not deliver on weekends however, as we do not need to have refrigerated trucks, we can leave your goods at your front or back door or to your office. We can deliver to anywhere in New Zealand.
