Very disappointing service from the Owner/ Manager. We have been coming here for a very long time and we spend around $70ish every time on hot pot as it was our favourite. Here comes the issue. The kitchen staff made a mistake of giving us the wrong food item and when we found out and asked for a replacement, they only swapped the food we haven’t cooked and replaced it with the pork balls we were meant to receive. We ordered 2 orders of the pork balls but we had already cooked most of the beef balls wrong item without realising it. We only ate a little bit of the beef balls and the owner cannot even give us a few extra pork balls even though they made the mistake of giving us the wrong item. Normally, this wouldn’t be an issue but for some reason, the beef balls here look quite pink inside even though we cooked it, hence why we much prefer the pork balls. Furthermore, we didn’t even want the full order replaced as we definitely cannot finish it. The main issue is that she had a terrible attitude even though we are regulars and I even asked so nicely but in return, we get a terrible attitude like we did something wrong. Apparently giving out a few pork balls will make them bankrupt and close down As a business owner myself, I understand it may be hard sustaining a business especially in such difficult economic circumstances. However, there was not a single ounce of apologetic behaviour and care to the customers.

My go to place for a hearty meal, great selection of dishes, homemade comfort food taste, and super good value for money.

One of my favorite places to eat in Auckland! Despite it's an old fashioned one with it's long history in the business there are so many goodies listing on the menu. Especially Cantonese hotpot, inexpensive but super delicious! Lunch special $8.8 you get a black pepper beef rice. It's cheap but don't worry it doesn't mean the quality goes down, tasty as it should be. See?! I even forgot to take pictures of the foods we ordered today. Anyway, just go and try you will definitely like it.

The place is small. Lunch time is madness and crowded. Need to go before 12.00 if you need a table to enjoy your food, once you ordered and need to add extra, sorry you will hv to wait in a queue for your turn and get your food after 10 mins. They are not like other cafe where you can order then have your food and pay when your finished. You pay as you ordered. The food is worth the money and we have this pork stomach soup very yummy and enough for 4 person to enjoy. Value for money.

Absolutely disgusting. The cooks were handling the food without gloves. They told our food be ready within 15-20 minutes. We went there after 30 minutes and still wasn’t ready. This in itself would not have made me write this. But the lady told us to wait outside the shop and not to disturb the other customers.

Rating only as the service wasn't so friendly. However, the portion/quantity they serve is definitely worth the price! The food is not very tasty or 100% authentic but filling. The Chicken Laksa Noodle Soup wasn't tasting as good as I get from other restaurants in Auckland/CBD yes, those restaurants charge more than double Sunrise Cafe price though.

Very cheap for lunch specials so if you're looking for some cheap and cheerful Cantonese food around this area then it's not bad. The food on the day we went was average and the servers were totally run off their feet - I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because it was a busy public holiday. Menu is good. Don't get the chicken laksa it's not really laksa!

Noisy owner lady, just won’t stop talking and blaming the waitress. I have to stand in front of the reception for at least a minute to get her attention. And get interrupted several times before I can finish ordering. Extra hotpot sauce costs 3 dollars, I’m not sure if she just made it up, because this is not on the menu. Won’t come again, don’t recommend.

Hong King style diner food. I will come back for more. The food was good, and very well priced.

If you like cheap food, quick and fast service this is the place. Good food, if you like Cantonese style food. You won't wait for long. Come in, order, eat and go, which is nice that's why seats are always available.Food: 5/5
