Here for the annual Blessing of the Fleet service, based around Nelson's large fishing fleet. Now Coastguard, the rescue helicopter, the harbour tugs and even surf lifesaving get involved in an hour long event. Food trucks, a brass band, fish and chips and a sausage sizzle fundraising for the Nelson yacht club were all part of the action this year.
Part of the Nelson history... And nearby there is the listing of every ship and passenger manifest of all the shops that came to Nelson from the UK and Europe in the 1840s, engraved on metal panels. Very interesting to spend some time reading them.
Great place to come drink your take away coffee,or to sneak a snack before you go home. Nice to come sit amd watch the boats go by.

Seafarers Memorial, Nelson, Lovely monument. Special place for fisherman and people who dedicate their lives to work and life at Sea. Great place to just sit and enjoy the harbour.
