The best restaurant in Wanaka! We went for brunch twice, it’s so good.nnWe ordered the corned beef sandwich, hash with halloumi, cinnamon roll, chocolate chip cookie with sea salt, filtered coffee, and breakfast sandwich. We loved everything and would trust anything coming out of that kitchen. Staff is super friendly and lovely.nnIt can be busy and difficult to get a seat, but people are constantly coming in and leaving. It’s so worth it!
Scroggin is a great place for brunch with great food.nnPersonally I enjoyed the one hander, which may look simple but delivered with its tangy sauce and sausage and egg filling.nnThe breakfast was nice with crispy hash browns.the lemon cheesecake waffle I felt could have been crispier, which would have taken it to another level.nnOverall, a very safe choice for brunch. It can get super busy with long queues.
The services and atmosphere were excellent.nThe coffee was also great. Love it.nThe cheese scone didn’t pass.. the taste was a bit one-dimensional and the texture was quite doughy. I said this because I tried a much better one in Queenstown with the same price…
Overall the ambience was really nice, but of the staff greeted us or even smiled, and we were left standing for quite a while without anyone offering help.nnThe smoked salmon toast was also disappointing-only three very small, thin slices of salmon for NZD 29, which felt poor value for money.nnThis place seems largely overrated and didn’t live up to expectations. I wouldn’t recommend it to visitors.
Had some toast here. Personally, I feel that their avocado toast was the best among the four dishes I tried.nnWhen we came around 10:30–11:00 am, it was a little hard to find a seat as it was quite crowded. By around 11:30 am, people started leaving and there were significantly more tables available.nnAlso tried their sea salt chocolate and other pastries, and they were good too. Blueberry scone was not that good.
