Thank you to all involved in the running of the Rotorua Hospital. I experienced a 'crush injury' to a finger. Everyone from  A&E to the Orthopedic Ward were fantastic given the challengers they face every minute of the day. The administration, nurses, porters, anesthetist and surgeon were helpful, friendly and professional which gave me so much confidence in the treatment that I was receiving.nYes, you have to be patient and wait your turn after being Triaged. But thats how it should be, yes the food isn't restaurant standard, but it was available and tasty and readily available when needed.nI'm one very happy customer now in recovery. Thank you all.
My eldest son had a dental surgery last year December. It was very smooth from reception, nurses, doctors they are all very accomodating. Truly it was a succesful operation. From the bottom of my heart together with my family we are truly thankful and grateful. More power and God bless.
My mother was in the care of the Surgical Day unit and was treated rather poorly at the end of her stay.nShe said the staff was fine and lovely the first day, but on the second and third days of her stay she was not listened to whatsoever.nShe was kept awake for 41 hours due to their lack of changing the medication that she was telling them was keeping her awake when she wanted to sleep through the pain of healing from her surgery.nSecond day the hospital saw a pick up in patients, which i understand made them more busy but my mother went without her medications that she was meant to get every five hours. I had to come and remind nurses about her and even then it was rather begrudgingly.nnThird day was absolutely horrid, she was still coming down from the effects of anaesthetics and some of her medication and she was only given paracetamol for pain relief despite going through surgery not even 55 hours earlier. Nurses and Head of staff were also rude and asking her if she was going home today even though she was clearly in pain and her blood pressure wasnt good the entire stay.nnA handful of nurses and helpers were lovely and i thank them for being amazing
My kid was sick yesterday and went to Rotorua hospital emergency around 4:00 PM. The old lady enter information into PC was very rude and her first question was if I have visa??? I felt she has mental health problem because was asking me questions and did not let me to answer to her questions. We waited for 3 hours and then I asked her we are waiting for 3 hours and my kid is sick, she told me doctor is busy. We waited for another hour, around 8:30 PM I asked her my kid can not wait more than this and she said doctor is busy but nurse might see my kid after another hour. They were not busy just did not want to see patients. We could not wait more and left hospital. A very bad experience. My son is still sick.
There should be mental health resources for doctors who are being bullied in this hospital. It’s disgusting you cant explain your problems if a doctor is quite literally bullying you because they see you as “overreacting”
