Rose Optometry was established in 1969 the very same day that man walked on the moon. We provide care and quality for our patients.

We provide eye examinations and specialise in:
Contact lenses
Keratoconus
Orthokeratology (great alternative to laser vision correction)
Paediatric ophthalmic examinations - any child at any age can be seen - we recommend all infants have an examination at the minimum of 6 months of age
Vision therapy
Sports Vision
Dry Eye/Watery Eye
Myopia control



"We provide vision correction solutions and manage and treat a whole range of eye conditions. Book in to see what sets us apart from other colleagues. We have invested in technology and provide the highest quality eye care and strive for best in class service. Our main goal is to help avoid preventable blindness. We will communicate honestly and give you our opinion on your best visual solution. After our eye examinations we will write correspondence to other health professionals in order to aid your treatment plan. We specialise in childrens visual learning sometimes referred to as paediatric optometry or "behavioural", Managing shortsightedness myopia, Keratoconus, Dry and watery eyes as well as Macular Degeneration."

Very welcoming, friendly & professional atmosphere. We were attended to as soon as we arrived and our wait time was not long. The Optician was very good at explaining Terence's situation to him & myself. The staff could not be faulted, our first time experience was great. Definitely a happy client.
They made my son’s experience wonderful. Every staff member is so friendly and kind. Payment plans are great for people on a budget. They are very experienced and great with my kids. I would highly recommend them to everyone
Absolutely phenomenal! Rose Optometry was recommended to me by someone local, and I too am now passing on my recommendations!! I have a pair of expensive sunglasses that needed a new thread, this was done for me graciously and free of charge! The staff were all lovely and kind, and I feel extremely humble for their assistance in getting these sunglasses fixed for me so I can use them next year as I walk the Camino de Santiago! Please go and visit this optometry, you won't be disappointed. Thank you once again, you have made me one very happy customer.
Had the best experience with Rose optometry. My eye problem was impacting my every day life and I was miserable. Tried to solve this in Wellington but nobody knew what was going on. Travelled to Rose Optometry Hamilton and they picked up my problem from the first assessment. I am now the happiest person! Very friendly and professionals, I recommend them 100% .
Always amazing. My son needed special lens for keratoconus and to add to the challenge his eyes are extremely sensitive. Dr Peter was amazing every step of the way, always talking to him and explaining what’s happening and working to get the perfect lens for my son.
Rose Optometry have been my optometrists for many many years. I get the latest technogical advice, lenses for glasses and contacts SUITABLE FOR MY SPORTING LIFE and other lifestyle requirements at the time. This is above and beyond just putting spectacles on the top of my nose and finish! I get great help and advice choosing frames to suit my bone structure, skin and hair colouring etc. All records held in the one place with the one business, but a print out of my prescriptions given to me to take with me overseas in case I need replacements. Fabulous service. Totally recommend Rose Optometrists.
I did give a 2 star originally, and I must admit to having a bad day. These guys truly are awesome and have given us great service. Just a miscommunication.

Very welcoming staff friendly, this my 3rd visit and each time its been informative and easy, I'm on an invalid benefit they have a good cheaper deal for beneficiaries which saves a few dollars which is always good, Recommend to anyone in Huntly needing glasses cheers mark
I have been going to Rose Optometry for three years and have had the best service and attention every time. They have solved my eye problems when other optometrists were unable to. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
