Lovely camp with big sites and stunning estuary views. Lots of great facilities including games room. They put on fun activities for kids and adults, including slip n slide, karaoke, bingo, etc. Very dog-friendly, I’ve never seen so many dogs at a campsite. Staff were lovely. Popular spot for JetSkis. You need tokens for the showers which you can buy at reception. We had a great time and will definitely be back!
I started coming here when I was a little under five if I'm correct. Its changed. For the worse. It used to be nice around here, not too many kids screaming at 9pm, not too many dogs barking for no reason at the same time, no neighbors talking loudly while we were trying to sleep. It was peaceful. I'm nearly 18 now and the price of a bag of gummy worms is like between 5-10 dollars. This is a holiday park. Not a 'give us your money' park. Hell, there are PERMANENT residents here when there are most likely some retirement homes around here or just houses you can buy! There used to be so many activities for all ages. But now they are mainly for kids or adults, no in between unless you're sporty. I miss the old Riverside so much. But hey, I either stay and be miserable every holiday I come up, or leave.
We had a self contained cabin of acceptable standard, but overpriced. Reception hours are very short, early check out or late check-in difficult. In the laundry, driers swallow a lot of coins but don't make heat, so after 1 hour and many many coins our clothes were still wet.

The best holiday park in Mangawhai!nThe Riverside Holiday Park is in a beautiful spot overlooking the water, with the famous Mangawhai Tavern just a short few minutes away by car. Simon and his family were amazing with their hospitality and service, I don't think we have ever been so well looked after in any other holiday park.n5/5 all round, looking forward to coming back!
