Resolution Bay Cabins is a family owned and operated holiday stay ideal for tramper's and family in the magical Queen Charlotte Sounds at the top of the South Island of New Zealand.

Story

Resolution Bay Cabins have been lovingly owned and operated by the Sowman family for over 35 lucky years. Resolution Bay Cabins offers rustic cabins all with ocean and native bush views. We are fully of grid with generator, wood and gas to light, cook, heat and shower. There is a beautiful spring that runs right past the camp giving the freshest water.We try and grow as much fruit and veg on site as we can and there are chickens that give beautiful fresh free range egg's that in my opinion are the best rich & happy eggs I have ever eaten. Sheep help keep the grass down. Being down the end of the Sounds we have a great source of amazing fishing. The Sowman family have been helping the marine life ever since they moved to the sounds and Resolution Bay Cabins have a "marine reserve" of 200m from their private jetty. The family started throwing old bread around the jetty to help bring the famous Blue-cod back over 25 years ago and now the water taxis and tour boats bring thousands of people a year to see the Blue-cod that live around the shouted bay. The bay also get many yearly visits from dolphins and at least once a year the beautiful orca. We also have seals living their summers in the bay.Surrounded by beautiful native bush Resolution Bay Cabins in an amazing spot to unwind and let life slip you by.
