Thanks very much to the caretaker. The toilets , showers , kitchen were clean. The lounge was a little aged and furniture old. However enjoyed the camp, relaxing, and great views. We had our own caravan. Will recommend.
Don’t stay in Picton before the ferry, the town clearly doesn’t want visitors. Drive to Blenheim so you don’t have to stay here. Paid $45 for a gravel parking lot with people watching you sleep. We felt uncomfortable. Toilets were clean and working - so I’ve been convinced to give this 2 stars.
Surprising cute little place. Dog friendly too. Clean and tidy, but a little tired looking. Very nice people and very friendly. Enjoyable experienceRooms: 4/5
$90 for two for two nights for an unpowered site is quite a lot in my eyes.. The location is great, and the train bridge is beautiful and gives the whole place such a unique vibe. The amenities are average, they're clean but dated. The kitchen at the back of the camp was locked, shower cold, and laundry out of order. Everything at the front of the camp worked. Overall an ok experience.
Very very basic accommodation, rooms don't have any blankets. Tries to charge you $10 for using the sheets. Must have shares in a printing business as there are passive agressive signs laminated all around the place. I thought the big sign that says RETRO CAMPING was very fitting so long as retro means following the stalin-esque rules and the bare minimum in the rooms - no hot water in the cabin. But they do provide a jug so there's that. Also I had to push the heater on every 17 minutes. Basically a tent would have had more luxuries and I reccomend that over this. Also health and safety problems NO SMOKE ALARMS. Positives: close to ferry and They did put the TV in the kitchen on for us so there's that. Noteworthy details: It's the cheapest and has rooms available for a reason.
He said they were pet friendly and then threatened us with a $100 fine if he caught our dog inside the cabin. Very grumpy owner. Be prepared for a freight train that literally drives through the middle of the campsite. Very basic.
Nice out look with the bush and river. BUT yuk that is the worst facilities I have ever seen. I felt like I was in a prison. Glad they are selling, it needs to be bowled and made again. That will be the first and last time I stay. And not cheap for what you get. This is the kitchen, a Mish mash of random stuff, I wouldn't want to eat in here.
A magical place. Trains, crossing a bridge; over the Campground. 4 healthy chooks. Dogs allowed.Tracks close by. Town a walk away. Retro plus. 100%. Cabins kitchens, Toilets. A lovely place.
Great if you have a dog, it's dog friendly and so close to the Dog Park. Holiday Park was quiet but facilities can definitely do with an up-grade considering the cost you're paying for a day. Only booked here due to 2:30am ferry sail from Picton to Wellington.
Rang to enquire about booking a cabin, with the intention of also keeping our very expensive bicycles in, over a long weekend. The owner is a very grumpy guy with a distinct lack of customer service that got really grumpy when I asked him if we could keep very clean bikes in the room. No ifs or buts just an unequivocal "NO" and then rambled on without giving any sound reasoning Hey it's his place so he can do what he likes I suppose. It's lucky we didn't just go ahead and book a cabin online to find that out as there is NOTHING in their Terms & Conditions to book that state his "Terms". Seems other Google reviews show his unstated "Terms" can be an issue. Hey Alexander Holday park - Maybe update your Website Terms with all of your "Conditions". Oh, and maybe try being nice to people....
