Red Leap Theatre is a leading,innovative visual and physical theatre company under the Artistic Direction of Julie Nolan.Our main bill productions tour New Zealand and internationally. Red Leap is committed to developing artists, audiences and the artform of devised physical theatre and we offer a variety of education and community outreach projects.

The devising process is a collaborative process that values participation, shared energy and ideas. The company work collectively with the Artistic Director to craft the work. These values, and the notion that we improve our own practice by sharing our skills with others, are at the heart of our company. We approach storytelling in a distinctive way and don’t shy away from new possibilities. We are open, collaborative and encourage young professionals in the industry to be their best.

Dust Pilgrim - A Tale of Freedom

Trapped in a life built on dust and shifting sands a young woman burns her world to the ground in a daring bid for freedom. Inspired by the limitless literary imaginings of the world of magic realism, the award-winning Red Leap Theatre return to their hand-made beginnings with an intimate yet epic tale of one woman’s fight for freedom in a world where dreams and premonitions are as real as the wind.

Featuring Alison Bruce, Ella Becroft and Tom Eason, Dust Pilgrim brings together an exciting new team of collaborators including the award winning Thomas Press creating sound.
