Located at the heart of Wellinton cbd the reading cinema is lively place to be. The basement of this building is food court and waiting area. Has many other shops too. The cinema theaters on 1st floor and has around 10 screens. The place is good but I did not like the audio system. They sound very old and low standard.
I only go to the Gold lounge at this cinema as the main part is always full of people who can't stop talking or using their phones. I enjoy having food delivered half way through the movie. But last time the chips were half cold and soggy. I'd rather get them early when they're still edible thanks
Very cheap as reading cinema is and nice food court downstairs. The theatre is small but makes for good viewing. Will come back when I'm in town next time.
We were in the XC room or whatever its called, so the screen was way bigger than what we usually get back in Blenheim. Think Megalodon compared to a great white shark. We watched Mission Impossible: Fallout and loved it!
The cinema has a good layout, plenty of space, and lots of theaters to accommodate lots of people. Cleanliness was fine, but unfortunately the day I went, I dropped my phone on the floor and there happened to be soft drink soaked into the carpet that wasn't cleaned up from the movie before... My phone got extremely dirty...
Rating 4 stars for the $10 tickets. Much lower price than most other cinemas in the area - this is the normal price I would expect to pay to see a movie. Has other things going for it too, recent improvements after the earthquake have helped things. Best to avoid during peak times though, can get very very busy...
The Staff here are almost always lovely. And their new $10 ticket scheme is a stroke of genius... There are very few films I wouldn't give a go for $10 rather than $16. Bathrooms are usually pretty clean too, which is a rarity, and a plus.
Honestly the best cinema we've ever been to. Lounge was amazing, staff very friendly and helpful. The screen itself in the gold lounge was out of this world. It was so spacious, comfortable and the ability to have hot food, alcoholic drinks and so much more delivered to while you're watching a film is amazing and only for 3 dollars more. It was the perfect cinema to see Batman V Superman
It is a multiplex. But it is a good multiplex. Often showing a better variety if films - even some pretty small releases - for a longer period of time than the independents. Good seats. Good sound. Great value, easily the cheapest even when the others have a deal on. Good dining options in the complex too. Parking is easy but you do have to pay so that's an added cost. And there is no beer here, which is a shame.
Good cinema. The gold lounge is nice but quite far away from the screen. Seats are super comfy though. Since they added in electronic ticket booths it's much easier to get tickets if you don't want confectionery.
