I went to this school a couple of years ago and it was an absolute blast! It was soooo fun and everyday felt like a new adventure. Even though the acdamic part isnt too strict u still got a lot out of the school, and the DPE was definitely one of the best parts of the school. we would take technology, art, cooking, industrial design wood works - sorry Mr Bailey-, photography and drama, every single Monday they were rotations. The teachers and staff were suoer duper nice and umthe raroa staff band was even better. They aren't racist at all because as a girl of strong religion, I had tons of care and love, and I even experienced student leadership. So yeah definitely recommend this place.
The school is ok and the teachers are nice, but there is too many bullies in my experience I'm probably only saying that because I feel like I get targeted, but if you have a kid susceptible to bullying, watch out. Also, in the case of my class, it gets quite loud, Which isn't good for listening/learning. The loudness isn't the teachers fault either. It's purely the students. Luckily, with a new generation of students coming in each year, this problem is highly susceptible to change. Of course the problem probably differs for other classes. We use websites like ep for learning, and also lot's of non-device learning. All in all, the learning we do is interesting, and complicated in a good way. The teacher also figures out what learning level we are at, and gives us problems based off our level. I will say that aside from the relatively few bullies, there are lot's of nice kids that will let you play/hang out with at breaks, and it is easy to make classmates. All in all, it is a decent school.
I learnt absolutely nothing and i hated this school because every student was treated like a handicap who didn't know the difference between right and wrong. I'm sorry but in what world does screaming atrocious and racist cusses make you Neuro divergent. I understand some people had problems but definitely not to such an extent.
Its okay I guess. Dpe is mostly fun, but other than that I dont get a heap of support with my learning, I get told off for not focusing or fidgeting, even though they know I have adhd. The teachers only intervene with bullying when it's physical or homophobic. I am openly a furry and I get bullied really badly for it. The teachers know the full extent of the bullying and they have done hardly anything besides telling off the kids who are doing it.
I'm here right now, its pretty good but a few bully's I've been learning stuff, but if ur not sporty its kinda hard to fit in but pretty good school
