Rangitoto College offers a great education with talented teachers, diverse subjects, and many extracurricular activities. I had a blast playing football and being part of the Big Band. However, the large student body can lead to challenges, including social conflicts and cliques. While the school provides excellent resources, the teacher-student ratio can be a limitation. Overall, I’d rate it 3.8/5. Despite its imperfections, Rangitoto College is a good choice in the area.
This school is academically advanced, but that's about it. If your child is exceptionally talented and has many skills, then it's a good fit. The school will value and focus more on your child. However, if your child needs regular attention and support, the school might disappoint you. From the dean to learning support and subject teachers, they rarely respond to emails. Safety is also a significant concern; my child lost personal items throughout the school year, from new school shoes to an iPad, causing deep worry for our family. While academic achievements matter, educating students in moral values is equally crucial to nurture genuine talent.
Fantastic staff and opportunities. The school has a solid academic approach to learning difficulties and the staff very supportive. We have found the sport curriculum and development of skill sets fantastic. Really recommend
If you’re below the absolute best of the best, then this school does not care about you in the slightest. If it doesn’t make them money, then you can guarantee they put the absolute minimum effort in
this school is better than Longbay
Send your kids here if you hate them
The school lacks car parking, the bottom car park is meant to be for parents to wait to collect their kids unfortunately it's too small so they park on the road heading out from the carpark creating a one lane street which makes it dangerous for the residents of the retirement village and for any emergency services trying to get into the retirement village
Rangi focuses on the student & the whole student. Academic standards are top shelf and co-curricular options are extensive. More course options than any other school in NZ, possibly the world. Size of school an advantage. Impressive strategies for developing social & life skills.
Finding rangitoto college has been a great choice of school for my year 9 daughter who has just started there ..
Overall great school with good environment and top teachers
