Story

Set amongst the native trees and beautiful forests of Rotorua, Rainbow Springs Nature Park offers a fun-packed and educational experience for the whole family. Learn about New Zealand’s fascinating natural history and meet the creatures who call this great land of ours home.

Each day our team of experts run free animal encounters which allow you to get closer than ever to some of our favourite park residents including trout, reptiles and native birds.

Rainbow Springs is also home to Kiwi Encounter - the biggest kiwi hatchery in the world! Kiwi are shy, ground dwelling creatures who only come out under the cover of darkness. However, don't worry about missing them during your daytime visit to Rainbow Springs as entry to our nocturnal kiwi enclosure is included in your day pass!

The fun never stops at Rainbow Springs with our exciting kid’s playpark, the thrilling Big Splash water ride and popular free-flight Bird Show. Don’t forget to swing past our café any time for coffee, snacks and lunch to keep you going throughout the day.

Rainbow Springs is also one of Rotorua’s premier kids party venues with attentive and friendly staff on hand to take care of everything. For something a little more grown up, business, social and wedding functions are also popular and available here.
