We have dined out at this cafe for the past 14 years and have always been happy however now it seems better than ever ! Not sure if they have a new Chef but the Lamb was melt in your melt and absolutely delicious as was the Pork Belly. Great service too, they take your drink orders straight away and bring water to table promptly and absolutely outstanding service from Marie !! She watches the tables all the time, she is very friendly and remembers orders and has never got it wrong even with 7 of us the other night. Marie is a huge asset to this business and really is amazing at her job !! Well done to the team of the Rain Bar, you a world class.

Sadly the Rain Bar has deteriorated since I was last there. Unappetising chicken skewers and the chicken was dry looking, days old. Long wait time to receive lunch. It used to be one of my favourite places to go to because of fresh good quality food but now so very disappointing. Won't be returning. Thank you for your response but meal was unappetising and I could do better at home presentation wise. On a good note excellent service by the young lady waitress.

Rain rejuvenation!nIt’s been a long time since I’ve frequented Rain. It used to be my second home for Friday drinks and all manner of social get togethers. It was always a fun time. I don’t really know why or when we stopped coming, but I think it coincided with moving further away. Maybe I got barred for my impromptu dancing? Who knows. Well thank goodness we are back. Let me set the scene.nIt was a cold, dark, rainy Tuesday so I texted my Favourite Husband and told him the good news … he was taking me out. He’s a lucky man.nFirstly, the covered outside area with heaters was toasty warm and nicely private. Because despite it being the most boring day of the week, Rain was busy. Go figure. My wine was delicious, equally delicious was the server didn’t look down her nose in disdain when I asked for ice with my wine.nWe decided to go with 2 small plates on the basis that I’d sold this impromptu date as “A drink and AN entree …” You’d think he’d know better by now …nThe tuna with mezcal and lime. This was well seasoned, citrusy, creamy avocado and some texture from the radish and rice paper crisp. The portion size was generous. It was delicious. We played safe with the good old chicken liver pate with an onion jam and other delightful garnishes. We’ve tried pretty much every chicken liver pate, parfait and mousse in the bay. This was up there with the best. The presentation confused the Favourite Husband, but I think that says more about him than the kitchen. I’ll leave that there.nThese 2 dishes were so good and because I wanted a second wine we also ordered the pork belly bites. Fall apart, soft pork, beautiful coleslaw and just a delight.nThere’s enough of interest on the menu to tempt us back. Many more times. Plus I need to investigate if they still do half price cocktails when it rains. It is winter after all.

Ordered 2 x cocktails from the bar. Was told they would be bought to our table. After waiting 15 mins for them and watching staff serve others who ordered behind us we approached the bar staff. Rude, arrogant and not one shit given. The cocktail wasn’t worth the wait nor the attitude from the obnoxious girl making them.

Had a lovely birthday dinner here last weekend. They had a highchair, menu and colouring pencils ready for our toddler at the table- the hospitality and inclusion for babies and toddlers is much appreciated! The atmosphere was great- busy but refined and not too loud. And of course, delicious food!
