Sorry but this pub is one pub I don't want to visit again. It was raining and I wanted to grab a pint while the kids did their groceries at countdown. I went to the bar and straight away I could smell a bad smell like rotten/rancid beer and my shoes stuck to the floor while I waited for my beer to be poured. I've worked bars before and that smell was dirty floors, like nothing had been cleaned, the bar floors or the taps / lines. Little food flies immediately started hanging around my glass, honestly I couldn't understand how the owners couldn't smell it!!!!! No!- health and safety issue.
Locals super friendly and helpful, meals were beautiful,
Great twin rooms for a motorbike road trip with.mates. Off street secured covered parking for our motorbike. Good bar. Less than 100m from Speights Ale House up the road for a great feed as well. Highly recommended. Not many motels have twin rooms for mates to share a room to keep cost down.
A typical hotel/pub next to a train station full of proper working locals
Thought we would try the Railway Hotel in Greymouth for lunch....bad idea....very dark, and not sure who was going to cook our lunch, but passed....I guess it's ok for a pub, but....ummm, first pub I've been to for lunch and passed, and I've had my fair share of " Awesome Pub Food" Good luck to whoever tries the Railway Hotel Greymouth for lunch.
Bar service ok but not friendly. Maybe because she didn't speak fluent English. Quartz bottle of speights was $12 as no speights on tap. Speights is a very popular beer so was disappointed they didn't cater for the large amount of speights drinkers. Most customers were in the pokie room.
Clean and nice owners. It gets bit noisy in the morning, but if you are early risers, it would not matter. Good asian food available at the restaurant and they are very helpful, even served us after the closing time.
Very old run down in need of a good clean and tidy up coffee area which was disgusting. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Synthetic duvet on bed was of extremely poor quality and room was very cold so uncomfortable to sleep. No plug for the basin to be able to wash and shower was needing a great deal of attention.
Lovely Thai meals, warm and friendly. Very comfortable bed
Biggest pokie den on the coast
