Copthorne Hotel Greymouth

Stayed here for 3 nights on a work trip. My room on the fourth floor was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I enjoyed the house-made granola and coffee. The staff were also very helpful.

Dated hotel that can use a lick of paint & some TLC, but, it's convenient, has a great view, reasonably priced, is clean and comfy.nGoogle sent us to some back alley as the entry, entry is on Mawhera quay.nStaff are fast, friendly and polite.nCarpets are new, bed is comfy, showers are clean and has good water pressure, but the pillows are very thin.nSeemed to be a shortage of powerpoints, only 2 by the door & 1 on the floor where the fan is. Usb ports by the bedside tables.

The best of what is on offer in town. We strolled down to Speights for dinner and visited the countdown for supplies. The location is great. The hotel itself was comfortable and warm.

Walking distance to Greymouth railway station and center of town. The outside needs brightening up plain grey walls but once inside it has been updated. Dinner choices were fine but they ran out of a couple of menu items, but service was slow as there was only one person serving the whole dining room. Rooms were small, but clean. Bed was comfortable.

First time here and NO AIR-CONDITIONING in the whole hotel. As a result you have to have the balcony door open for any air. PS your neighbour room door is on the same balcony so no security.... just honesty. A fan in your room. Rated 3 stars and it fits perfectly. Really tired and run down on the outside but the rooms have been revamped. Neat clean and tidy. You get what you pay for. Breakfast Included.nReminds me of the time warp cafe....
