Food is amazing!! Full of flavor, large portions and beautiful presentation. We had the Paneer Manchurian, Kottayam Beef Ishtoo and Drums of heaven pictured. We will definitely be going again!!
Very authentic Kerala food in New Plymouth. We didn’t expect to have such a good food and great service. Try Kumarokam policha meen and porotta for sure !
I do like this place despite is location next to a busy Highway. The staff are always friendly and last night we were entertained by a very happy 5 year old boy. He had quite a bit to say and had bollywood style moves to support it. The food tasted fresh - fresh herbs and spices, tender meat and breads were awesome. It was flavoursome and plentiful. Looking forward to my next meal here
Not sure if the reviews were fake or the normal chefs were on holiday as we had a totally different experience. The curry was yucky as my daughter put it. 3 curries had similar taste though they were different style dishes. Paratha was too thick at some places and was the best thing of the lot. The food took almost 25 minutes more after initially 40 minutes wait.
This was our first time trying South Indian food and it did not disappoint! The waiter was very helpful in recommending and explaining dishes to us. The dosas and the gobi manchurian were definitely the highlights and we'll be back the next time we're in town!
Nice place to hang out with friends. Went there on New Year’s Eve! I have ordered couple of times and ordered different items from the menu. The South Indian Veg Buffet Brunch was just awesome. What more I can ask for at $17.99. Would definitely recommend Radio Malabar South Indian Restaurant!
Good restaurant with very friendly owner. It is not the standard Indian restaurant so most of the dishes on the menu were unknown to us. The owner was more than happy to recommend dishes so that we had a bit of culinary experience. We loved it.
We booked First Table for an early Sunday evening dinner with a friend on the Friday evening. We were unsure if the First Table booking had gone through so phoned the restaurant on Friday evening to tell them our voucher hadn't come through our email and would they honour the First Table 50% off booking, the man that answered my call said he would. We received an email on Saturday to say that unfortunately the booking had not gone through, an internet glitch and to re book the table, when we went back on the First Table website on the Friday evening after booking the booking was no longer available, and so again I phoned Radio Malabar to confirm they would honour the booking we had made in good faith, they said they would. We went for diner at the agreed booking time, 5:30, service was great, food tasty, we did not request "doggy bags" at the end of our meal as this is one of the conditions of First Table booking. After our meal I went to pay and they charged full price, I debated this as I had made he two confirmation calls re our First Table booking, they totally refused to accept this and said "perhaps the person didn't understand" . We all feel totally deceived by the whole incident, it was embarrassing for us and our diner guest. If a staff member doesn't understand perhaps they need to pass the call to someone that does, we think that this was a poor excuse. We had never dined at Radio Malabar and were taking the First Table experience to try the restaurant, we would never had gone for diner if it wasn't a First Table booking. This experience has left a bad taste in our mouths and we will never recommend nor eat here again.
Went to Radio Malabar for the first time tonight, the food and service was really good. The food was divine, we all ordered a different dish and shared and had a dosa to start, mushroom and chicken, all delicious. We had heaps left over too. BYO so a good meal out for a reasonable price. We will definitely be back.
A great place to dine with friends! I especially love the dosas and the many flavourful vegetarian dishes on offer. It isn't expensive and is licenced to byo wine. I always enjoy very good service here with excellent menu recommendations.
