Love the decor and theme of our new favourite restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient. We had delicious starters and main meal. It was surprising, and hard to resist, to be offered a chocolate brownie and ice cream for desert.
We went on what had to have been the busiest Wednesday ever. Thankfully the gin kept flowing. Reid Reid Gin Grandmas Chicken Curry was mouth sooooo good. Recommend plus plus.
Serious underwhelmed. Ordered lunch here today and got a very watery cold chicken korma, just over 3 quarters full for $17. Robbery! And where has the complimentry popadom gone? This is the second time this has happened now since they moved into the new building and had a change of staff. Looking at stopping buying food here after supporting for many years.
Food is good and delicious but is definitely overpriced in my opinion. Wait time can definitely improve. Staff members are extremely friendly and welcoming. Customer serice is good. The place is cozy and has an authentic Indian ambience which releases a good vibe.
We were a walk-in and restaurant was full but we were seated at the bar and able to order food and wait for a table to free up. Bar staff were polite and professional but lack a casual banter quality that is nice in a good bar man/woman. Relatively noisy but also very busy so was understandable, the bar area was a bit crammed, however when seated to eat it was quieter and had normal space around to move in The food was really well done, rich flavours with just the right amount of food per serve. Waitress was engaging and chatted to us while remaining professional, showing interest but also focused on her job. Overall considering how busy they were we had a pleasent experience and would definitely go again... And would book in advance!
India Today has consistently been a favourite of our family for many years. I love the food and the decor and the service is really excellent. I especially appreciate that the restaurant has music at levels that don’t interfere with quiet conversation at the table.
Hands down the best Indian meal we have had since moving to NZ 15 years ago. Great place, good ambiance, attentive staff and delicious food. Worth a visit to New Plymouth just to eat here.
Attentive service on arrival, took our drinks order then promptly came back for meal order. Starters came out, they forgot our mains, 2x waitresses said they'd check on mains, we continued to wait and when they finally arrived with the food they were the wrong heat. Really disappointed as was quite an expensive night for a meal we weren't at all happy with. Wouldn't go back.
Top-notch everything - ambience, decor, food and super friendly staff. Can’t recommend enough! A must-go place for Indian food lovers of a standard second to none.
Great place, friendly owners and nice staff. All food was tasty and looked great. Many dishes could be altered to be vegan, and many GF options! Would be happy to arrive again to eat here.
