Purewa Cemetery & Crematorium

About

Purewa Cemetery and Crematorium presents an opportunity to visit a loved one's final resting place in a peaceful, park-like surroundings.

Story

Purewa's beautiful, well-kept gardens and extensive lawns create an air of solitude and serenity.

The cemetery still remains one of the Anglican Church's most important assets. The tranquil surroundings of this 45 acre cemterey are now administered by the Purewa Cemetery Trust Board.

For this reason, there is possibly no finer setting for a dignified and moving funeral service than in our beautifully landscaped gardens and well-maintained grounds.

Location, parking, venue, atmosphere, service, staff, tea...... Perfect. Sad, but this is the best farewell I experienced.
The Purewa crematorium was built in 1957 and has undergone a number of expansions. Impressive garden location that is carefully maintained. Very helpful staff.
Quite a large cemetery that is divided into sections. Each section has a different burial types. Be wary that the road is generally one way since its fairy tight particularly with cars parked on the side. The main office is out front with the chapel.
Peaceful as plus I got to show off for the passing trains
the gentleman at office is the kindest man we met today. He opened the door for us even it was weekend and drawn the map for us. Later on he drove to find us and took us to the destination.
The signs may be poor, but i cant wait to be here xx
Why on earth is this place closed on weekends?
One of Auckland's oldest cemeteries.
Such a beautiful cemetery
