Lovely hospital with awesome staff!!! Food is great and just over all standard is very high. We are very grateful to all the staff there caring for our dad while he was there after surgery, and with dementia which is not easy. Thank you to all the staff there!!!
We moved to Pukekohe after our little one was delivered at Middlemore. My wife had quite a few stitches and lost about a litre of blood at Middlemore and while the care on ward 21 and the delivery floor 2 was fantastic, the care on floor 4 after birth was hit and miss, some lovely nurses who were godsends but one in particular who was not so great, likely due to lack of staff. My wife has to stay alone due to shared room and no female support person, baby cried all night and was not getting great support while trying to learn to latch. As soon as we could we discharged from Middlemore to Pukekohe.nnThe difference is night and day! The rooms are small and a little tired but the staff are the best! She’s been encouraged to call the midwives nurses? over everything and they have taken the time to really teach and assist. Baby is now latching brilliantly and mums stress levels have almost completely dissipated. She’s now able to really enjoy the early stages of being a mum and we have this facility to thank for that.nnWe had heard great things about here and had family use them previously and rave about how fantastic they all are so despite being the furtherest option from our home we decided it was the place for us.nnCriminally underrated, if you are having your first child, you cannot go wrong with Pukekohe. Thank you all so much for what you have done for our fledgling little family!
Pukekohe birthing unit team truly acted like angels throughout our experience. They were incredibly supportive, patiently answering all our questions with love. From the warm welcome to the smooth discharge, every aspect was fantastic. Their commitment was especially appreciated after a disappointing experience at Middlemore Hospital. We can't express our gratitude enough for the exceptional care they provided.
My mum was there for walking rehabilitation. The receptionist at that part of the hospital is a rude ignorant muppet so was the social worker and one of the nurses. The rest of the staff were great. Physio was great. Very thankful. Mainly just appalled at the rudeness of the receptionist.
This place is great, genuinely lovely caring staff who actually want to be there caring for there patients. Much more personal as aposed to somewhere like Middlemore. Thank you to the team who took care of my partner and our new born baby girl.
