Story

Stunning piece of architecture. Standing on the northern side of the bridge looking back towards the mountain it looks as if the bridge is a wave and it is breaking over the mountain. Great photo opportunity whilst walking along the coastal walkway. Very popular spot on a summers day
Lovely place to spend a day or three nights if you have a motorhome. Great lake side walks with the dogs. Highly recommended
This bridge is aligned to frame Mt Taranaki with it's ribs yielding to the wind to honour the deseased. It is a beautiful structure of cultural significance with the promise of eternity etched into it's thought provoking design.
Really loved this spot. Good for cycling and walking ‍ .Stunning view of the mountain Taranaki. Good spot for photoshoot as well . Enjoyed alot , wanna go back again
I'd been hoping we would get some clear weather to see Mount Taranaki, and lo and behold on the day we did this walk, it was spectacular! The bridge is pretty cool but was undergoing some maintenance badly timed we thought as it was school holidays! and the walk along the sea front is good. An easy walk for most skill levels and travels for quite a way along the coast. Thanks for turning on the blue sky, New Plymouth!
Unusual. Was being renovated when we were there. Go to the very end and the lookout - well worth it
This spectacular bridge is still open to the public during renovation work, although may be closed for short periods only.
Beautiful architecture and park with so many activities that you can do. When I was there, people were cycling, walking, on jet skis, going for a swim, having a picnic, etc. Beautiful place, and if you're lucky, you might see Mt. Taranaki clearly. Note: Bridge is currently being repainted so you might not be able to take a good photo of the whole bridge as there are some scaffolding on a part of it.
Beautiful piece of architecture and so well placed. A real engineering success and a place you must visit to fully appreciate. Absolutely loved it.
The view is gorgeous and air is so fresh. There's a nearby place where you can have picnic with your family or friends. There's parking area available.
