Pregnancy yoga is a series of nurturing stretches, massage and affirmations aimed at making your pregnancy more comfortable and preparing you for birth.

Story

Pregnancy yoga runs every Thursday from 5.30- 7 pm. at 'Parents Place' 87 Boundry Rd Hamilton. The cost is $ 6 per class, bring a towel or yoga mat. No need to book in or commit to a certain number of classes. Best to start from 12 weeks pregnant on wards.

Absolutely lovely pregnancy yoga class- Petra is brilliant and we made loads of mum friends too. It’s a zen way of practically preparing for birth- her breathing techniques really helped me, and it has such delightful energy. It also helped mentally and physically with the pregnancy itself. We enjoyed it so much every week. Thoroughly recommend and thank you Petra.
Petra is a knowledgeable and inspiring teacher. She challenges me whilst making sure I feel safe! I have progressed so much with her guidance. She also has a great sense of humour, so there’s plenty of laughter in the class too. Thank you Petra! X
I have attended Petra pregnancy yoga for the birth of my two children; and I would choose to do it again. I learnt invaluable tools to cope with birth, it kept me fit during pregnancy and help me relieving back and pelvic pain. I do recommend Petra´s lessons to any pregnant woman. Thanks Petra to help trough pregnancy and giving me good techniques for labor!
I can’t recommend petra’s pregnancy yoga classes enough. I started in my second trimester as I wanted to stay active. Petra ensured I stayed active in a way that was safe for pregnancy but also teaches a variety of really useful techniques for getting through labour. I also attended a one to one class with my partner to catch him up on what we had learnt which was also fantastic. Petra is a fantastic teacher; I would start the classes stressed from everyday life and leave feeling so much lighter. Can’t thank you enough.
Petra is an incredible yoga teacher - so knowledgable and inspiring. In just three months I feel much stronger, more stable and more flexible I was a bit of a wreck before thanks to her expert tuition. What makes Petra extra special is the practical advice and dry humour that accompanies her expertise. I learn and laugh in every class! No wonder she has so many students who have been with her for many, many years. I hope to become one of them!
I have been practicing yoga for 8 years, and Petra is among the most precise instructors with whom I have worked. Her awareness of subtle movement and small shifts in my body--even over zoom--have unlocked things in my practice that I've never been able to do before. The atmosphere in her studio again, live or virtually is really warm. There is laughing, occasional ribbing--and lots of firm-but-kind correction. And Petra notices when her students do things right, which is surprisingly important! It is really motivating. I really recommend Petra's classes, truly to folks at any level. I started going with my dad, who is in his mid-70s and started with the goal of being able to touch his toes. Now he's hopping up into crow like it's nothing.
Petra’s mummy and baby yoga classes are amazing! If you’re looking to sneak in some exercise in a baby friendly environment, then you need to join Petra’s classes! I joined when my daughter was just 6 weeks old and we went right up until she was almost one. Petra is a brilliant teacher and because the classes are small, she makes sure that everyone gets lots of attention and is getting the most out of the yoga. The classes are hard work, but you really feel like you’ve had a proper work out and they have definitely helped me get back in shape after having my daughter. Petra is great with all of the babies and will always try and soothe them if they are upset, so mummy can get on with the yoga! Mummy and baby yoga was always one of the highlights of our week – I got the chance to do some exercise and my daughter got to hang out with other babies! I’ve also made some really good new mummy friends through Petra’s classes which has been really nice. I’m now pregnant again and going to Petra’s pregnancy yoga classes which are also amazing! and already I can’t wait to start mummy and baby yoga with baby number 2. I couldn’t recommend Petra’s classes highly enough!
